I buy detergent from the dollar store. You cannot beat that price! I don’t use it to wash the kids clothes, though… Too tough on their skin. I like laundry but what I don’t like is ironing afterwards…

I always wash all my clothes in cold water and hang them outside in the warmer weather.

I do all the laundry for the week on Monday. It gets the week started productively and then I don’t feel like that is all I do all week long.

I use equal parts Palmolive Dish Soap (Original), ammonia and water mixed in a squirt bottle for a stain remover. This works better than anything I have found.

I do all the laundry back to back, & I do it at night so not to heat up the house during the hottest part of the day, this saves electricity& money. I also buy a huge container of laundry detergent at sam’s club and it last for several months! Store brand laundry detergent works just as well as name brand detergent but it is cheaper!

To remove grease from clothes try adding a can of cola (starts with a C) to the load when you add the clothes. Wash as normal. It helps break down the grease. My hubby works in a machine shop and has steel grease on his pants daily. This makes them look almost like new!

i’m a subscriber, but am leaving a comment just in case. saving money/time on laundry…i could really use time-savers. my only contribution is that i have a three-divider hamper and i separate as i put it in the hamper so that i don’t have to sort later.

I started using the Purex sheets. no muss, no fuss. Just pop one in the washer and transfer it to the dryer for fabric softening.

I like to do my laundry during my (TOU) or time of use plan here. It saves me a lot of money doing laundry for my family of five!
Rebecca
I reuse my jeans when I haven’t got them extra dirty. I air dry when possible, if I have to use the dryer then I reuse the dryer sheet at least twice. I use cold water unless something is very greasy. I only wash when I have a full load. I use vinegar to reduce static.

I do the laundry while doing other household chores. I just set an alarm so that I know when to take things out of the washer and dryer.

I make my own laundry detergent and save oodles of money!

I make my own laundry soap every 3 weeks… also, each child has a set day each week when their laundry is done and whites are always done on Wednesday!
