Here’s a quick synopsis of the book:

Serafina’s defeat of the Man in the Black Cloak has brought her out of the shadows and into the daylight realm of her home, Biltmore Estate. Every night she visits her mother in the forest, eager to learn the ways of the catamount. But Serafina finds herself caught between her two worlds: she’s too wild for Biltmore’s beautifully dressed ladies and formal customs, and too human to fully join her kin.

Deep in the forest, Serafina comes face-to-face with the evil infecting Biltmore—and discovers its reach is far greater than she’s ever imagined. All the humans and creatures of the Blue Ridge Mountains are in terrible danger. For Serafina to defeat this new evil before it engulfs her beloved home, she must search deep inside herself and embrace the destiny that has always awaited her.

    It’s really hard for my daughters to not make their electronic devices their priority but Barnes & Noble has a summer reading program where if you read three books you get a free book and they’re pretty cool books that they get for free so that is how I encourage them to read over the summer.

    We signed up at our local library for the summer reading program, they already earned a few prizes.

    We visit the library often and hubby and I have always been readers so the kids enjoy reading. My son will start to read his new books on Christmas before he opens his toys

    We signed up for the summer reading program with our local library and they reward kids for reading. Makes my kids want to read even more.

    We signed our kids up for the library summer reading program and are encouraging them to read at least 30 min. a day.

    We sign up for bookstore and library promotions that are offered locally. We do movie marathons which include reading the book first. We are reading the BFG now.

    My daughters have at least thirty minutes of quite reading time every day. They have reading bingo boards with different ideas in each square like “read a nonfiction book” or “read with a flashlight” in order to keep things exciting.

    I gave my children punch cards for chores and reading. They get money when they turn in their filled punch cards. They also joined our local library summer reading program which is a lot of fun and earns them some fun prizes and a t-shirt at the end of the summer!
