Check this link out for a winning Soft & Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie. I’m crossing my fingers that I do this link-thingy correctly! The headline should read “Title Town Crowns Cookie Champ”. This article was in our local paper today. Perfect timing! ;)

I just make the Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin cookie recipe on the bottom of the Quaker Oats lid…nix the raisins and add chocolate chips instead. YUM!!! A batch of these at my house is gobbled up in no time!

I was able to print mine after I signed up with Mother’s Best. They sent an email and I had to verify my account first, but I did get it.

Out of the Don’t Panic, Dinner is in the Freezer Cookbook
(My friend melissa says these are wonderful!

    2 sticks margarine (or butter)

    2 cups brown sugar

    2 cups white sugar

    6 eggs

    1 1/4 t. Karo syrup

    2 T baking soda

    1 T vanilla

    3 cups peanut butter

    7 1/2 cups rolled oats

    1/2 lbs chocolate chips

    1/2lbs M & M’s

makes 6 1/2 dozen cookies (I made half and froze half in balls so now I just put them on a cookie sheet and bake anytime)

Cream together margarine and sugars. Add eggs, Karo, soda, vanilla, and peanut butter. Beat well. Stir in oats, chocolate chips, and M &M’s. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 min.

I have tried dozens of oatmeal cookie recipes and my favorite is still the one on the package. I agree with Stacey- nix the raisins, add a few dark chocolate chips. Still the best!!

How about no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookies?
In a bowl put 3 cups oatmeal, 1/2 cup peanut butter, tsp. vanilla, dash of salt.

In a sauce pan put 2 cups sugar, 3 Tblsp. cocoa, 1/2 stick butter, 1/2 cup milk. Brink to rolling boil, begin timing 60 seconds. Remove from stove, add bowl ingrediants stir, and spoon onto pan.

    Absolutely delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both Dollar General and Jay C Grocery (southern Indiana) have the Quaker bags for $1.00. And I think I saw it at CVS today also.
