My walmart, does not accept Internet printed coupons!

My Walmart refused internet coupons on my last trip. I will simply go somewhere else. It’s a shame, Walmart has become such a corporate monster and they want to begrudge consumers a measly 25 cents off.

NLZP…I think you should print out their coupon policy…I have never had a problem and their own policy specifically states that they accept internet printed coupons.

My walmart will go through the coupons and say the coupon is for $1 off and the item is only 97 cents – they will wright 97 cents on the coupon and then take off 97 cents (rather than scanning the coupon). I am not worried about the 3cents other than I don’t know if they are being reimbursed $1 or not – but it takes forever and I end up with an angry mob behind me. Any advice? Is this normal?

Usually they have a button that will allow them to manually take off the 97cents. But as long as they are allowing you to use the coupon, don’t worry about it. As far as the angry mob, they can find a new line to go to if it is such an issue. Don’t be ashamed or embarrassed for saving money!

As far as dealing with the angry mob…I usually turn to the person behind me as soon as they get in line and say, “I have a lot of coupons. I just wanted to let you know, sometimes it takes a while.” Then they are forewarned….they have no reason to be angry. They often stay and are impressed with my savings. If it’s a really long transaction with all the nitpicky stuff like you mentioned, I turn to them at the end and say, “Thanks for your patience…and for not rolling your eyes at me. I just saved $60!” They area usually happy for you.

I think that the reason that they write “97 cents” on the coupon is so that when they send them in they are only reimbursed 97 cents. No way is a company going to reimburse a full dollar on a coupon that has 97 cents written on it, right? At least that has always been my assumption.

From Sunday coupon insert RedPlum back on October 17th.
You could always look on ebay or an on-line coupon clipping website.
I always go through ebay so I really don’t know the best coupon clipping service.

I use a clipping service – it is The Coupon Clippers out of Dade County, Florida. They are also on FaceBook.
        Hope that helps,

I have been going to walmart and using my internet coupons and now they say if they wont scan you can not use them. They used to type them in but not any more.
@ Tasha google the body wash and the coupon will come up.

@JoAnn, I’m having the same prob at my Walmart here in Ohio. If the coupon does not scan, they will not take it. I have a very old printer, b&w :( I had a .50cents off coupon for Betty Crocker boxed potatoes (2), the cashier did not want to let me use it stating I didn’t have 2 boxes! I said it’s a pkg of 2 boxes, why not! Had the mngr come over who approved it. They were on sale for $1.25, and I ended up getting them for .75 cents for 2 boxes * great deal * I guess the cashier didn’t like the fact I was getting such a great deal ?

I don’t think that the cashiers have a problem with us getting good deals. It is more an issue that they are afraid of losing their jobs if they accept coupons incorrectly. Several cashiers have told me they had to check with management on certain things because they had gotten in trouble in the past for the same issue. Even if I know the usage is correct, I don’t want some poor kid getting fired over it.

There is an awesome Secret/Olay deal at Walmart right now:

Buy 1 Secret Travel Size Deodorant {$.97} and 1 Olay Bodywash {$5.00 on rollback} }and use $1.00 off 1 any Secret from P&G Savvy Shopper mailer and $5.00 off 1 Olay wyb 1 Secret from 10/31 newspaper insert. Makes both FREE!!

If you didn’t get the P&G mailer you can still get both for $.97. Some people have said that their Walmart would not let them use the Secret coupon on the travel size, but I just tried it today and no beeps and no problems.

Yay! Thanks for posting this — having read your post yesterday caused the sale of Secret and Olay Soap at my store to jump out at me — I had 2 $5.00 off coupons and got a full-sized Secret and 4-pk. Olay Bar soap for $1.29/2!! Perfect timing as we were running low on bar soap!

What a great deal! I actually found another $5 coupon laying right on the shelf with the Olay body wash. Hopefully when I go back they won’t be all out! :)

@ Celeste…this is more or less correct. They should be scanning the coupon. However, they should manually adjust the price of the coupon down to match the price of the item you are buying, ie the .97 item/$1 coupon. I just had this happen to me the other day with the gain dish liquid (.97 item/$ 1coupon) …the cashier REFUSED my coupon saying that Im not allowed to get things for free…umm what?? Way to make up your own rules as you go why dont you, lol…I had to get a manager to handle the situation, but like another poster…I had a gang of ppl in line behind me after it was all said and done…That $5/5 Kraft product coupon is another one that gave me the blues…make sure you have your policies with you, as to (hopefully) avoid this….

I read somewhere that Walmart considers price adjusting of coupons fraud because they actually get reimbursed for the full amount of the coupon. I can’t remember where I read that…I will have to look it up again.

Wal-Mart get reimbursed for the full amount of the coupons. The coupons are sorted with automated machines. There is no way that the thousands of coupons are hand processed. Just think about it. If you read the fine print on the coupon it states that they are reimbursed for the full amount!
