also Walgreens must have realized that the $3 in store cpn was taking it off the free item. I bought these Sunday and it took $6 off. Today I went to get more and it only took $3 off. Manager said it won’t work anymore on the free item. :(

I tried to use the manufacturers coupon from RP (10-10) along with the walgreens coupon today for the Natrol. However, the clerk had to call a manager over because it appeared the register would not accept both coupons (and kept beeping)….the manager insisted that I could only use one coupon and that I had to chose which one I wanted to use. I had this problem last week at a different store as well. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have started to get fed up with Walgreens over the last year for these types of reasons, I guess it means more business for CVS. :(

      Hi Anna,
My suggestion is to make sure you keep a printed copy of the Walgreens coupon policy when you shop there. That way you can pull it out and show the manager when/if they tell you can’t use your coupons.

As a former WAGS employee, I know sometimes it will beep if 1) the total dollar amount of the coupons is over the cost of the product (which can usually be overidden by manually entering the coupon amount in) or 2)the WAG coupon is not on file (in which case it will alert the cashier and they will have to price modify the item less the coupon). Hope this helps!

The Bic coupon has been dead for a couple of days now. It’s too bad they didn’t permit more coupons to be printed because this was an awesome deal to grab. Sorry you weren’t able to grab one :(

Question- does Walgreens allow you to purchase an item (say) of $2.50 and use a $3/1 coupon for that item= FREE?
I ask because when I wanted to purchase an eye cosmetic priced at the price above, same scenario, the cashier said I was not allowed to because I “didn’t spend the total of the makeup!” I had other items in the same transaction but was told to either “purchase the makeup or don’t! I don’t really care, but I’m not accepting this coupon!!” And then ALL of my coupons were questioned after that!!
Is it normal practice for cashiers of Walgreens to be rude and then treat their “thrifty” shoppers like they are stealing, questioning their coupons?!!

Yes, you should be able to use the coupon. Per Walgreens coupon policy, the cashier should adjust the coupon down to the price of the item if the coupon exceeds the actual price.

I also hate Walgreen. That problem always happen to me. Grab a candy bar, then it’ll work. I try to stay away from Walgreens. It seem that ALL Walgreens employees and managers are RUDE!

Well, dog-gone it, I DONT WANT A CANDY BAR! I want to purchase only the items I came in for.
This is why it is taboo to visit the evil WGS in our family.

It’s ok..I mean it was just a clearanced eye make up and after looking at my total purchase(s) I paid just $1 for the following
Toilet paper, 3 lipsticks, 1 lip gloss, 2 Precise Therapy, 2 pencils,1 Pantene Shampoo/1 Conditioner
So I would have to say I was the one who got the last laugh on that crabby cashier!! : )

please don’t post coupons that have been dead for a couple of days. there was a post about the bic pens a couple of days ago when the coupon was dead and here it is again. this just makes it even more disappointing.

I had an issue at Walgreens today too. The cashier took the Wags coupon off, and then it beeped for the manufacturer coupon and she manually entered it at the lower value and I ended up paying $2.00 more than I should have. Most times I don’t have issues though.

Walmart on the other hand gave me a terrible time today and I had them take several items off my receipt and out of my cart. I chose not to buy them because they can not honor coupons properly.

Just an FYI… the Walgreen’s in-ad coupon is $3 off 28 counts or higher on the Stayfree pads… So I didn’t use them. Didn’t want to commit coupon fraud…

OMG walgreens is bad! I cant tell you how many times I have gone in there and bought something and find out when I got home that I was either overcharged for something or that I was charged twice for something I only bought one of…But when they overcharge me I make sure I go back and get the $5 plus the difference from them but it seems after that they still havent learned their lesson because I’ve been overcharged at least once since the last time I complained to them in an email.

Yes, I see the coupon is not printable…and when I look at all the comments about Walgreens I can say it isn’t just ME being disappointed. I only shop at Walgreen’s now when I have no choice – most of the time I find they NEVER have the items in stock they are using to drag you in, and when they do, they try to give you a hard time about stacking coups. Managers almost never write you a rain check. You can argue with them about it and even show them the coupon policy, but they have other excuses for not adhering to their own policy. I see the parking lot at Wags is not nearly as full as CVS or RiteAid, so Walgreens is almost surely digging their own grave.

I tried to use the Bic coupon yesterday and the computer would not let it go through. The clerk started to call a manager and then noticed that the price was $1.99 and the coupon was for $2.00 one penny difference and told me that was why it wouldn’t go through and told me that was their new policy. Is this correct?

I was told by a Walgreens manager that he would adjust the price of the item up to meet the coupon value because they will get the total face value for the coupon if the price of the item was at above the cost of the coupon.
