We have a Christmas Eve tradition in our house that we started back when our oldest son was born. Each child gets a new set of pajamas and a special ornament that reflects something special to them from the past year. This has the added bonus of making for cute Christmas morning photos, and we love looking back through all of the ornaments every year.

So when Walmart asked me to shop my local store for apparel gifts under $10, I knew I wanted to check out their selection of PJs…

I was pleasantly surprised to find a wide selection of patterns and styles at very affordable prices, like these adorable pink kitties and stars. The pajama sets my girls are wearing above were priced at just $9.97, and they both loved the patterns I selected for them.

I know it’s not Christmas Eve yet, but I thought photos of them modeling them are so much cuter than just trying to snap a pic of them hanging on a hanger. (See our Polar Express train set in the background?)

Chances are you need to purchase some sort of small apparel gifts this holiday season as well, whether it be for co-workers, kids’ friends, stocking stuffers, secret santa gifts, etc. I found numerous other ideas at Walmart at prices that won’t break your budget.

A few other suggestions:

• Hanes sweatshirts and sweatpants at $5.97 — personalize with fabric paints or iron-on appliqués!
• Knee-high holiday socks at $1.97 — I packaged these up with some inexpensive nail polish and a $5 Starbucks GC for coaches’ gifts last year!
• Twinkle Toes slippers at $9.97 — my girls would just adore these!
• Basic gloves and hats at $0.97 — embellish with a little embroidery floss or rhinestones for a customized gift!

I think I may have to go back and snag some of those slippers for my girls. I was a bit pressed for time, so I didn’t even get to check out the boys’ department, but I have no doubt that they have tons of possibilities for them as well.
