Stretch Your Budget: Earn Money with Online Surveys

I first blogged about earning money from online surveys for Christmas in July. As we are quickly approaching the holiday season, I thought I’d revisit the subject for Money-Making Week.

With only 65 days left until Christmas, it’s probably too late to earn enough money to cash out and receive a check before then, but you can get a head start on the new year by starting now!

One of the easiest ways I’ve found to earn a little extra money is with paid surveys.
While I don’t have much time to invest in survey taking these days, the great thing is you can spend as much or as little time on this endeavor as YOU want to invest. If a survey interests you, take it; if it doesn’t, just delete the email.* It’s true that some companies reward you with more frequent surveys the more you fill out for them, but you are never obligated to take any of them. Furthermore, you should never pay for access to surveys. There are plenty of legitimate sites that you can sign up with directly with no fees whatsoever.

*Before signing up for any survey sites, please take a moment to read my post on protecting your personal information.

The following is a list of legitimate survey companies that I have firsthand experience with, e.g., I have taken surveys for them, cashed out, and most importantly, I have been PAID. It’s very simple to get started. Just register, fill out your profile information, and then they will email you with survey opportunities that match up with your profile. Generally you have to reach a certain threshold before you can cash out, and this amount varies by company. Some survey sites may offer points that you redeem for gifts and gift cards in lieu of cash, so be sure to read the details before you sign up if that doesn’t interest you.

Zoom Panel

Ipsos i-Say Panel

Memolink

Opinion Outpost

American Consumer Opinion Panel

The following are some additional survey sites that I came across. While I can’t claim to have firsthand experience with them, I did check them out and they appear to be legit. If you have information to the contrary, please let me know and I will remove it from the list ASAP!

SurveySpot

Global Test Market

Permission Research

Survey Club
Survey Club

AmpSurveys
AmpSurveys

If you’ve had a good experience with a survey site that’s not listed here, I’d love to hear from you!

I’m currently using MyPoints. I’ve read enough emails and taken enough surveys in the past few months to earn $10 off at several choices of restaurants. I’m not sure if you can earn money or not, but you can earn rewards. They also have printable coupons and you can earn points by shopping online. I’m not going to cash out until I can earn more points and get a bigger reward.

Also, Inbox Dollars works the same way but you can earn cash as well. If you’re interested, my referral link (shameless plug) is here: https://www.inboxdollars.com/?r=ref4184568.

    Hope this helps!

I’m not fond of surveyspot. I seem to have filled out a ton of surveys, and never manage to get past winning entries into their grand prize giveaway. I like Opinion Outpost, and I’ve also used PermissionResearch and cashed out points for gift cards.

My sister and I take surveys with Lightspeed. You earn points that you can redeem towards gift certificates and even cash to your PayPal account. Lots of great experience with them!

I like MyPoints and MySurvey as well as the ones mentioned. Let me know if you want a referral email, anyone! For MyPoints, you earn for more than just surveys, but also for printing and using coupons (yeah!), reading emails, shopping online, and other things. The points add up really fast and you can choose from LOTS of gift cards (restaurants, stores, gas stations, etc)!

I LOVE surveyspot. With some of the surveys i take they send me free things to try. So far by taking surveys (in about 2 months) i’ve tried 2 bags of pampers, a bottle of conditioner, waffles with strawberry filling, and muffin mix. Also from Shespeaks the steam and mash potatoes with the masher. MySurvey is a good one for sending things to try. I do take a LOT of the surveys i’m sent so this might be the reason i qualify for a lot of things. I don’t take the insurance or auto, surveys like that unless they have a cash reward because they’re usually long and boring and you’re not going to get anything to try for free =)

I LOVE surveyspot. I’ve cashed out about $150 with them so far. It’s one of the only survey panels I like because it’s easy to accumulate cash and you don’t have to deal with any point systems. I do wish they had a referral program because I’ve referred MANY people here, with no complaints. :)

I use erewards and was going to post on that but I read that you have to be invited to participate and you can’t just sign up for it. I have used it for some time and use it to get Hilton Rewards and have had added to my free nights at hotels! I used to get American Airline miles but I think they stopped doing that on there. It is great also.

I have just started using surveyspot and haven’t had much luck with it but I will give it a try as I have heard many great things about it. I have just been getting random surveys here and there.

Great feedback! I have signed up for a few new places to do surveys tonight!

I also use MyPoints.com, which is a great way to get coupons, from coupons.com because when you print them you get points and when you use them you get even more points. Plus bonus points for using 5 or more in a month. I also do the surveys and you get 5 points for just clicking on a suggested web page. You even get points toward Ebay purchases. I typically use my points toward a gift certificate to Target or Walmart, but I also see that they have CVS, so maybe I’ll do that this year.

I started with E-rewards.com about a year after MyPoints to get airline miles, but my carrier is no longer on the list. This site is all surveys and again I put those dollars toward a gift certificate to Target or Walmart now.

Tara, I have a complete list of my faves at my place too (link below). It includes a Nickelodeon Panel site which pays very nicely and offers surveys for the kidlets.

I just cashed out $180 last month from holding money in each of my accounts. No, you won’t get rich but like you said whatever effort you put into will get you something back!

Harris Polls is another site like Zoom Panel. Viewpoint Forum is another great one (you may need a referral for that, I’m not sure – let me know if you need one). In addition to those two, I’ve also been paid by Survey Spot, Ipsos, ACOP, Lightspeed, Zoom, and JD Powerpoints. I adore MyPoints.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
