    In my office depot ad, there’s no Canon’s on sale at all. What ad are you looking at? I live in Illinois

        Staples policy says they don’t price match store prices to those on other companies’ Web sites. Has anyone been able to get the price match?

          You cannot get it. Staples will price match online prices if it is also sold in stores, but it has to be in stock ready to walk out the door at the other store. So, I called and made sure Office Depot had it and they did, then I called Staples and they held one for me. I just got home and they said they only price match if it’s NOT an instant store credit. So if the price were just marked down, it would work fine. So, this doesn’t work. Bummer.

            @Mouse…that’s strange. I actually just got back from Staples & they said they’d price match as long as it WASN’T a rebate at the other store. They said since it was an instant savings & since my local Office Depot had it in stock, they went ahead & did the price match.

            Of course I forgot to use the $5.00 off coupon but oh well…still a GREAT deal! I can’t wait to start printing some coupons!

    Even then it may not work, see below the price match policy of staples –

    =============
    How do Staples coupons and rebates contribute to the Staples price?
    When calculating a price match, we’ll deduct any available Staples coupons, Staples Rebates (instant, easy or mail–in) and manufacturer rebates from the Staples price to arrive at a net price. For example, if you buy an item from us for $100 and we offer a $20 instant rebate, the net price is $80. If another company’s price is $80 or more, we will not match the price. Another example: if you buy an item from us for $159 and you have a $30 coupon, the net price is $129. If another company’s price is $125, your price match would be $4.

      I am in MA also, but I was able to get in on the deal. In reading other people’s posts, I made sure to call the nearest Office Depot store first to check that they had it in stock, and then I called my local Staples store to see if they had one available. Once they confirmed they did, I asked if they would price match. They just asked me to print out the Office Depot webpage with the printer and price on it, and they will price match it…So I just did that, and I got it for $124.99 + tax after price match and the $5 off $25, along with the rebate form for $100. No hassle from the cashier or calling up Office Depot to check the availability. He just price matched it and called the manager over to approve, which she did. Thanks for the info, Tara!

    can’t do it…they price match after their rebate…so theyor price with rebate is already 99.98 so they stated they would not price match and then give you $100 so yu could get the printer for $30.

    I’m in Ohio and I called staples and they wont allow the price match and the rebate. It would still cost $99.00. To bad because that is an awesome deal.

    Just came home from Staples near me (live in Michigan). It worked for me. They price matched it saying that as long as it was an in-store (office depot) rebate and not a mail-in rebate, they would match it. However, they did not honor the coupon.That’s okay, because I had $20 in staples cash rewards to use.

      So, what did you bring in because it’s not in the ad? Did you print a copy from the office depot website?
      thanks!

    I don’t see this in my ad and I can’t find the deal at the Office Depot website. Can someone who has the deal in their weekly ad post their zip code so I can try to see it and print it from online? Probably won’t work, but I want to try anyway.

      Try typing in “Canon D420” under the search option on Office Depot’s website and it should come up. That’s how I found it.

    I just got back from staples w/ the printer for 124.99 plus tax. I had to “borrow” the on sale price tag from office depot and take it to staples. Once there, the cashier looked the price up online and gave me the sale price. Word of warning, certain cashiers will tell you they can’t do it because it says instant rebate. I told them I called staples this morning to make sure they would honor the price. The store manager came over and approved it.

    Thanks Tara!!!!! This worked for me SC. I didn’t have the ad and couldn’t find it in the weekly on-line, so I printed out the info from Office Depot’s website and went in armed with all of the local stores that had it in stock, plus all of the phone #’s. I honestly didn’t expect the cashier to accept it, but not only did she price match, but I was able to use the $5 off &25 plus I got the rebate. Canon printer for $25!! Awesome deal!
