HOT Kroger Triple Coupons (Central Ohio and WV)

April 28, 2011 by Tara Kuczykowski 32 Comments

Starting today through Sunday, May 1st, Kroger stores in Central Ohio and West Virginia will be holding a triple coupon event! This makes many of the Kroger deals for this week even better.

How Triple Coupons work:

  • Coupons up to and including $0.50 will be tripled. This means that a $0.50 off coupon is equal to a discount of $1.50.
  • If your store normally doubles up to $0.99, coupons with a value of $0.51 to $0.99 will continue to be doubled.
  • There is a limit of 3 like coupons per transaction.
  • Make sure to check out the DSM Coupon Database for a list of available coupons! Click on advanced search and change the value to $0.50/1 to find the best coupons to triple.

Remember to call your store and confirm their participation — as of right now I’m only aware of stores in Central Ohio and West Virginia. If your store is participating, please leave a comment sharing your location.

From no doubling in Houston area to tripling where ya’ll are. So far, the one here in Crowley, Texas is hanging in there. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that there’s a somewhat new HEB down the road! They even run better ads than the ones just a couple of miles away in Fort Worth.

I posted this over at stretchingabuckblog too. I’m very blessed Tara that you and Marcy are both in Columbus.

I took a quick run thru this evening and here’s what I got. All for free saved 96%

    4 Listerine pocket packs 10/$10 $0.50/1
6 Reach toothbrush and flosser or floss $0.99 used reach toothbrush coupon floss coupon and a great overage coupon $2.50 off any 2 listerine products.
8 yakisoba teriyaki, shrimp or spicy chicken $1.09 used $0.50/1 the system tripled up to the price. No overage.
Starkist tuna pouches. 4/$5.00 used $0.50/1 from friday facebook. The system tripled up to the price. No overage.
Crest regular and kids toothpaste. 10/$10 used various coupons. I don’t have kids so I randomly gave out 10 tubes to shoppers with kids.

There must have been some overage in there as my total was $3.04 tax was $0.64.

    I also purchased 2 frenchs mustard $1.89 with a printable $0.50

I’ll see what other deals I can find tomorrow.

Tara, would you recommend deleting some coupons from my Kroger card so they don’t mess with the tripling of the manufacturer coupons? As I understand, Kroger no longer accepts coupons loaded on your plus card along with manufacturer coupons. Am I correct?

Yes, that’s true, Carrie. If you have an ecoupon for a product on your card, the register won’t let you use your paper coupon. So I’d definitely recommend deleting them if you can. Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s any way to remove the coupons that are loaded from Kroger’s site.

On Kroger’s website you can remove coupons from your card. Click on ‘View My Coupons’ and then click ‘Remove’. However, I don’t think you can remove coupons from Shortcuts.com.

Anyone else feel like they don’t want to use the electronic coupons anymore because of the electronic coupon over-riding any paper coupon you have? I wish there was a way to choose at the register which coupon you want to use for each item (electronic vs. paper)! The paper coupon is usually a higher value due to doubling.

Thanks, Amy! I knew it was one of the sites — just couldn’t remember which. I typically just avoid the ecoupons altogether unless I add them right before a shopping trip.
