Vera Bradley was started in 1982 when friend Patricia R. Miller and Barbara Bradley Baekgaard were traveling together and noticed that there is not a great deal of baggage made specifically for women. It was then the two friends decided to make functional, soft luggage out of rich and colorful fabrics that change seasonally.
