December 14, 2011 by Deal Seeking Mom 3 Comments

Here’s a great deal on a FoodSaver if this is on your wish list!  Get the FoodSaver Starter Kit for just $47.99 (down from $119.28!) when you use the coupon code L1FV65A during checkout.

This Starter Kit Includes the V2040 FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer and the following items:

  • 3 Lunch ‘N Leftover Containers
  • 3 Sandwich ‘N Snack Containers
  • 1 – 11” x 16′ Roll
  • 1 – 8” x 20′ Roll

This is a fantastic way to get started preserving food so that it lasts longer in the refrigerator and freezer.

FoodSaver recently sent me a vacuum sealer to take part in their FoodSaver System Challenge. I’ll be testing the unit out over the next few weeks to see how it can help me save both time and money in the kitchen, so check back for my thoughts!

I have had a food saver since they first came out. Recently it stopped working, can’t complain since I have had it and used it for over 10 years. I can’t begin to tell you how much money I have saved over the years by being able to by meat in bulk and freeze it without worry.

I use the battery powered Reynolds zip bags in pint, 2 pint, and quart sizes. Just fine for me and I can get more in my freezer using flat storage rather than dishes.
But I totally agree, it is a start to saving money… I have a chicken, allready cooked and cut in pieces just waiting for the day my g/kids come over and want chicken and rice with peas… in a half hour, on the table, hot and pretty…

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
