While I absolutely love fresh flowers, I have to admit I've never been a big fan of roses. They're over priced (and even more so for holidays), and frankly, I think they're kind of boring. I'd far prefer a dramatic bouquet of cut tulips any day — like this fun, Spring-like arrangement that I made yesterday!
It was really easy to put together — all you need are tulips, a lemon, and a mason jar. I think Le Parfait jars are so pretty, but they can get a little spendy. You can often find just the bottoms at thrift stores when the lids get broken, which is perfect for flower arrangements.

The first thing you'll want to do is trim about an inch off the bottom of each flower to allow them to take in more water so they last longer. Fill your jar with water and arrange the flowers. Then slice up your lemon into 1/4" rounds and tuck them into the jar around the flower stems.

The lemons will have the tendency to float to the top, but the stems should help anchor them into place. I'd just recommend adding them where you plan to display your arrangement so you don't have to move it after you get them placed exactly where you want them.

And that's it — a beautiful arrangement that takes only minutes to put together.
Two lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will win a $25 gift card to the craft store of their choice — Hobby Lobby, Michael’s or Joanne Fabrics — to put together their own tulip arrangement!

I’d probably go to Hobby Lobby and I love arrangements with mixed greenery and dried twigs and just a little splash of color.
Thanks for the chance

I’d go to Joann’s and I’d use some pretty pink flowers.

Hobby Lobby. They have a great glass and ribbon selection. I think for the bouquet itself I would like to do Daisies with a few branches of Rosemary (I have TONS) and slices of small oranges or tangerines and limes, as a twist on this arrangement.
Sandy
JoAnn’s. It’s really close to my house. Tulips have always been my favorite. My daughter can help me with the display.
Kim

I would go to Hobby Lobby. I would also make an arrangement out of tulips. I think tulips are pretty in a vase or a metal bucket, and add a couple hydrangeas heads in with them. I thought putting the lemons in the water was a very ingenious idea
