CVS: Herbal Essences Shampoo and Conditioner Money Maker

November 15, 2010 by Deal Seeking Mom 16 Comments

If you like Herbal Essences Shampoo and Conditioner, you’ll be excited to know that it’s actually a money maker at CVS this week!

There was a $2/1 Clairol Family Product coupon in the 10/31 P&G insert. It pictures hair color on the front, but it’s actually good on any Clairol product, including Herbal Essences.

Clairol Herbal Essences Shampoo or Conditioner, $2.99
Get $2 ECBs (Limit 1)
$2/1 Clairol Family Product, exp. 11-30-10 (P&G 10/31/10)
Better than FREE after coupon and ECBs!

Check out the other weekly CVS deals for four more FREE items!

The Clairol coupon does not scan a CVS or at Rite Aid for the Herbal Essence. Thought I would give you the heads up on the headache.

I tried using it at Rite Aid and it was a no go. Although, I have heard that some have gotten lucky and gotten a cashier to force it through.

Got this at CVS. Should have been limit 2, not just 1. I used the other $1.00 coupon that was in the recent insert (11/14 RP?). I looked at the other coupon for the $2.00 Clairol family and although it MAY have worked, it showed the hair color product(s) on it. Rather would use a coupon intended on the product it should be for and not get any “funny looks” from the cashiers. YMMV but good for those who use the “wrong” coupon on this one. :)

The pictures on coupons are often misleading. Companies will generally show the highest priced item the coupon is valid on, but it’s the actual terms of the coupon that dictate what it can be used on. As this coupon says “any Clairol Family Product,” using it on the Herbal Essences is completely legitimate.

The CVS in Cincinnati-Beechmont/Anderson Store wouldn’t use the coupon either because the coupon has a picture of the Clairol Hair coloring. She said it had to be used for the products pictured on the coupon.

That’s where taking a copy of the store policy in with you. Just in case they want to get grumpy with you. It’s not the cashiers money we are getting.

So does anybody know if this is a limit 1 or one that says it’s only limit 1 and you can actually get 2 ecbs on it?

At my CVS I got a Herbal Essence Hair Spray for $2.99 & got 99 cent ECB & also a Herbal Essence Raspberry Shampoo for $2.99 & got the 99 cents ECB & used a $1 off 2 HE products coupon. So it wasn’t too bad of a deal! $1.50 per product is great!!

Does this coupon work at Walgreens? They have a good BlackFriday deal also on these.
