Back-to-School Giveaway: $100 in KIND Snacks!

August 11, 2010 by Deal Seeking Mom

Join me every day this week for Back-to-School Giveaways. I’ll be posting 5-day giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

As I’ve mentioned before, KIND Snacks have quickly become one of my favorite healthy snacks, and they’re especially great when I’m looking for a nutritious snack while I’m on the go.  The makers of KIND believe that food should never be processed to the point that you can no longer tell what it is, and all of their bars are made from wholesome all-natural ingredients you can see and pronounce.  With whole nuts and fruit held together with honey through a natural process that keeps them fresh, KIND snacks are packed full of flavor and have just the right amount of crunch!

KIND is a sponsor of the annual Great Kindness Challenge on August 14.

The Great Kindness Challenge is one day devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible. This year’s goal is to have over one million children participate with the hope that this day will inspire a lifelong commitment to service and kindness.

From sunup to sundown, children around the world will accomplish simple, kind deeds using The Great Kindness Challenge Checklist from Kids for Peace. Visit The Great Kindness Challenge for more information and to sign up to participate!

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win $100 in KIND Snacks!

There are so many acts of kindness that we can perform on a daily basis. To be honest, I feel strange saying “I did this and I did that”. I will say that my husband and I like to do act of kindness anonymously. He will be paying for a friend to go to a men’s retreat since he is unable to afford it. My daughter who is 9 always is trying to keep peace amongst her friends which can be difficult at time. During the school year, she puts the newspaper on the doorstep of an elderly couple that live at the bustop.

Last week I left a box of frozen Thin Mints (from my freezer stash) on my girlfriend’s door. I knew she had a rough couple of days and left them with a note ‘chocolate makes everything better’. She called when she got home, quite touched. Then she took one of the cookie sleeves to her neighbor who adores Thin Mints. Kindness is ripples on a pond!

An act of kindness that I do monthly is visit the elderly and needy in our church and help them with any needs they may have. Daily, I show kindness to my family by being an example, giving lots of hugs and kisses and trying to be patient!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
