Generaton 2 Worldwide “SafetyCraft” Brand Drop-Side Cribs
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers that “SafetyCraft” brand full-size and portable drop-side cribs manufactured or distributed by Generation 2 Worldwide of Dothan, Alabama, contain drop-side hardware that appears to be identical to Generation 2 Worldwide ChildESIGNS brand drop-side cribs recalled in February 2010. This hardware found on SafetyCraft drop-side cribs can fail and place infants and toddlers at risk of strangulation and suffocation. CPSC staff urges parents and caregivers to stop using these cribs immediately and find an alternative, safe sleeping environment for their baby. Do no attempt to fix these cribs. Because Generation 2 Worldwide ceased operations, CPSC has limited information about these cribs and where they were sold. CPSC has been unable to identify major retailers that sold these cribs. The name “SafetyCraft” appears on a label affixed to the crib’s headboard or footboard. Product labels may identify the place of manufacture as Indonesia or Dothan, Alabama. Sunbeam Convertible Irons
A voluntary recall has been announced on Sunbeam Convertible Clothes Irons because the iron can overheat and cause a fire because of a wiring issue, posing a risk of burn injury to consumers. The recalled irons are blue and gray and are a hand-held garment iron that converts to a garment steamer. The model number (GCSBRS – 103) can be found on the bottom of the iron’s plastic base. The recalled irons have date codes C235 or C237 imprinted on the blade of the plug and on the bottom of the packaging. The affected irons were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond stores nationwide from June 2010 to November 2010 for about $60.
Consumers should immediately stop using the irons and contact Sunbeam for a free replacement. For additional information, call Sunbeam at 800-656-9708 anytime or visit the firm’s website.
