Walmart Shopping Trip 6/9/10

June 9, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski 22 Comments

One of the things you guys asked for in my recent survey was for me to post more of my personal shopping trips, and I’m happy to oblige!

Now keep in mind this particular trip isn’t actually my shopping trip. I made a list for my hubby and sent him off to Walmart with a stack of coupons. He did a pretty good job, bringing home everything pictured for just $7.11 and saved $15.18!

  • (2) BIC Pens, $1 — used recent $1/1 BIC Stationery printable that’s no longer available making them FREE.
  • Chef’s Requested Bacon-Wrapped Filets, $5.97 — used $3/1 Chef’s Requested printable. These got mixed reviews in the comments, but I figured we’d give them a try. They actually cost about $2.50 more here than in other regions, so I probably wouldn’t have bought them if I was the one shopping, but that’s okay.
  • Pampers Wipes, $1.97 — used $2/1 Pampers Wipes coupon from last Sunday’s P&G insert to score FREE baby wipes.
  • (4) KC Masterpiece Barbeque Sauce, $1.42 — used $1/1 KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce printable. There was also a $1/1 KC Masterpiece Barbecue Sauce or Marinade in the 5/9 SS that will work. This also was more than anticipated, but we were out and he decided to buy it anyhow. I probably would have only purchased one and held on to the other coupons for a better sale, but I’m trying not to be too critical since he’s still very much a newbie couponer, LOL.
  • (4) La Creme Mouse Yogurt, $2.18 — used (2) B1G1 La Creme Mousse printables and (2) $1/1 La Creme Yogurt Multipack printables making them only $0.59 each.

So all in all I’m pretty happy with his savings today! There are a ton more Walmart deals to take advantage of, but we’re going out of town this weekend, so I’m trying not to load the fridge up.

Good job hubs! Here they have $5.98 steaks and $3.98 steaks at our Walmarts. The $5.98 is the better cut off beef I think. We usually get the cheaper ones. I liked them. Wouldn’t want to pay full price for them, but for 98 cents they are excellent.

I was really disappointed to see the KC BBQ was $1.67 here, it’s the Kraft one that is on rollback for a $1.

I would love it if he would use coupons. He used 1 this week. Yes I said 1 coupon. lol You would think he was paying in pennies the way he acted. lol It was $5/2 benadryl. It would be a great help if he would use them. Less time for me running all over 4 this and that. lol Great job getting a man to use coupons. I wish. He likes that we have money more in the bank.

It’s actually from Oak Express, but I think I’ve seen one that’s very similar in the Kmart ads. Is yours countertop height? I just love that it expands to fit the whole family.

Can you use a bogo and dollar off coupon together? Both are manufacturer’s coupon. I was trying to use the Olay body wash coupon from the P&G brand saver from 6/6. The olay body wash is about $7 at walmart.

Catherine, this is kind of a gray area. Some stores will allow it, and some won’t. Basically the explanation is that a B1G1 coupon attaches to the free item. Since you can only use one manufacturer’s coupon per item, that technically leaves the possibility of using a coupon on the item that you’re actually buying.

My husband goes shopping with me but when it comes time to check out, he goes out to the car! There’s no way I ‘d get him to go out shopping w/coupons in hand. You’re lucky!

My wal-mart would not allow me to use both the b1g1 and the $1 coupons on the La Creme. I tried explaining but they refused, so I took my coupons back and will try somewhere else.

I love it! Thanks for your shopping trip post. I find it helpful to see the deals too, I am a visual person. I sat down last night and clipped my coupons for my Walmart trip this morning. I am so excited to go. I have a husband story… I gave him the option of going to CVS to get some last minute deals on Saturday night or to put your daughter to bed. He surprising said “I will go dealseeking.” I showed him in the ad the deal, gave him my coupons and reward bucks and explained how to use them and told him to make sure he got $10 reward bucks back on the receipt. He said they were out of Puffs but the cashier substituted Puffs with Vicks because he told her that “his wife would seriously kill him if he came home without the deal.” He should have spent around $9 and got the $10 back in reward bucks. He spent $19, he got chips, dip, and ice cream too! He was proud we got the deal and “the chips were on sale for BOGO.”

LOL, that’s so sweet! I’m really surprised that my husband didn’t come home with an extra item or two . . . or three. He has a tendency to do that too, so I always have to remind him to stick to the list before he leaves.

I am a newbie to all this but I’m planning on getting my hubby involved in the coupon saving frenzy as soon as I can. I’ll also have to remind him to stick to the list.

What is the zip code for the B1G1 laCreme yogurt? I can’t seem to find it no matter what zip code I use.

I can’t get the B1G1 La Creme coupon either. Has it been removed already?

Did the register beep with the $2 off pampers being that they were only 1.97?

Poop. Walmart wouldn’t let me use the B1G1 and the $1 off one for the yogurts. Could only use one (b1g1) since you’re already using a manufacturer’s coupon on a pack and not purchasing an additional one. Hope everyone else has better luck!

Wanted to add that the Pampers coupon for $2 off worked fine on the $1.97 price for the wipes. At least at the register for me, though it seems to vary from location to location.
