I don’t know about anyone else, but it seems to me that my local Walmart is playing price games, at least they are at the location I go to a couple of times a month in the south of Houston area. Just a couple of definite price changes come to mind, a couple of weeks ago a bottle of Welch’s grape juice was shelf priced at $2.50 and yesterday it’s all the way up to $3.64, a bag of Lays chips was shelf tagged $1.98 and now it’s up to $2.49. These price changes are just a couple of weeks apart. I have had MANY problems at my location with the shelf price being lower than what rings up, and even 2 different prices on the shelf for the same exact item and of course the higher price is what rings up.
The Ovaltine is even higher then what seems to be the average, $3.24 for the rich chocolate 12 vitamins added, and the 8 vitamin chocolate malt one was $3.49. Don’t even get me started on the use of coupons at this location, and definitely not on coupons that are 1 cent more than what the item costs. Many seem to be able to use these coupons with no problems but they are NEVER accepted at this location.

walmart will not let you use a second coupon in combination with a B1G1 coupon. they say you have to buy one item at regular price to get the other for free and you cannot use two coupons on this type of deal. it kinda pissed me off last time i tried to do this so what i ended up doing was , i bought 2 deodorants with a B1G1 coupon, went straight to customer srvice and returned the one I paid for, kept the free one and went back into the store, picked out the deodorant i’d just returned and re-purhased it with the $2.00 off coupon. Yeah I know I could have just kept the free one and gone about my way but that wouldn’t be right, and plus I just wanted to prove the point to myself atleast , that walmart should just not be a-holes about it because if a customer really wants to get in on this type of deal, they will. As long as DSM posts it I know that it is legitimate. In my experience with this blog DSM has never shared any info that would be unlawful nor does she promote anything that has to do with cheating retailers, thats for certain. I think it alll has to do with the specific manager runing that specific location. Some stores will allow it,some won’t. Anyway, I got the deal using that strategy, but i wouldn’t really recommend doing it unless there is not a long line at the register, which there was not on that given day.

madalina – the B1G1 coupon is in the June issue of All You magazine. the mag is available at walmart. If you are not a subbscriber I would highly recommend it. it is full of Qpons and totally worth the subscription.

My Walmart is the same, wouldn’t tell me why, but said I couldn’t use both coupons. I emailed a complaint but of course it didn’t do any good. I can use both coupons at ANY OTHER STORE IN TOWN, so I just don’t even use B1G1 coupons at Walmart anymore.

so true Pat. Before couponing I always thought walmart was the cheapest place to shop for anything, now after learning how to coupon from DSM I have found the total opposite. I realize with all the reward programs and deals at drugstores and target, walmart is way expensive. Now I only shop there If I have a coupon and/or really need the item and it is not on sale at these other stores.
