Rite Aid: FREE $30 Gift Card w/ Prescription Transfer

November 5, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski 13 Comments

Got a prescription to transfer? Just print one of these coupons and take it with you to Rite Aid to receive a $30 Rite Aid gift card, as well as an entry to win free gas for a year!

I’ve heard that people also have had good luck using these at competitor stores – even if it’s not a transferred prescription. After all, if you transfer your prescription away from CVS or Walgreens, they’re losing business, so it’s in their best interests to honor it.

YMMV, of course, but it’s worth a try if you prefer these stores.

my cvs has a big sign in the window that says they honor competetor prescription qs. I find it best to use the qs there besides rite aid even though you don’t get entered to win free gas, because come on how likely is it that I will actually win that free gas and because they don’t have a limit on how many times you can use them. At rite aid I think it says it only works if you haven’t transferred/used coupon anything in 60 days or something like that. Plus my CVS lets me use it on new prescriptions as well, which is great because all my prescriptions are new, I don’t have any I have to refill. But you should ask at your cvs to find out the details of what they will/wont honor.

Thanks for the tip, I ‘m going to have to try this at my CVS where we’ve just decided to take my parents new prescriptions.

I didn’t see the coupon on Coupons.com (the link you have) but I did see it on Rite Aid’s website.

From my past experience with CVS they will take competitor coupons but if the coupons only says transfered and not “new” or “refill” on it they will not take if for a new prescription or refill. I actually got into an agruement with the store manager about this very issue stating what is the point accepting cometitor’s coupons if you will not take it for a new or refill then you are losing my business which is why I thought they accept competitor coupons and they clamied it would be “coupon fraud” since that is not what the coupons states.

Thanks for letting me know! I found the other coupon you mentioned and linked it instead. Coupons.com seems to run through the print limits in no time flat anymore!

Rite Aid recently, Jan 09, issued a coupon that offered a $30.00 gift card on any prescription not previously filled at any Rite Aid stores. Consequently, when I transferred my son and wifes prescriptions for antibiotics from CVS to Rite Aid I was denied the 2 $30.00 gift offered on the coupon. The manager said the prescription had to be a on going prescription transfered, but the coupon does not mention or imply this. When I told the Manager to tell me where it said this on the coupon, she told that Ishould hve known this fact. She is crazy, te coupon is very clear in its writings…”not previously filled or transferred from other rite aid locations.”
