WOW!!! That sounds awesome… I need to get up there!

I just got back from Walgreens! Wish I would have known… Oh well still got a some killer deals! I had 4 of the Schick coupons so I flip flopped back and forth. Got about $100 worth of merch for less than $10! Yay!
Sarah
This makes me even more bummed that our area didn’t get the Schick coupon! I was so looking forward to a money maker. :(
Melissa
What does rolling mean?
Melinda
Rolling means that you can use a register reward earned on one product to pay for another one of the exact same product. Ex: Schick Hydro is producing a $5 RR and since it is now rolling, you can turn right back around and buy another Schick Hydro and pay for it w/ the $5 RR you just earned. This is usually not the case. Usually you can’t pay for a product with a RR earned from that same product.
Melissa
Thank you! I’m new to shopping at Walgreens and trying to figure out how it all works.
Melinda
I totally understand. I was new about 2 months ago and I have learned so much from this site and saved tons of money!
karen
does anyone know if wags does rainchecks for RR items when they’re out of stock? went to mine yesterday and both items were gone already…
Amy T.
The Walgreens I went to said they do give rainchecks when they are out of the items on sale but that you will not earn the Register Rewards on that item.
Jeni
I’d love to hear the answer to Karen’s question above!
mary
Mine always say no rainchecks. Sometimes they will substitute an item (did that once for me on Olay in shower lotion, let me use the wash instead- which I preferred anyway)
Stacy
Most of the time, Walgreens will issue a rain check for an advertised item, however they do not usually take into account the RRs. So, you can get the advertised price, just not the RRs (unless the deal runs longer than a week). Rain checks are not issued if the ad limits quantities or states something like, “while supplies last.” Your best option if you want the deal is to try another store. I would call ahead though to make sure they have the item in stock before you make the trip.
Carol
Our Walgreens in S. Cal. runs out of product VERY early – e.g. they only stocked 8 Clio trimmers – leaves quite a few with NO deal….
They usu. say they will have a new shipment in Friday, stocked by Sat. but USUALLY have no RR items sent…..
What a deal….?????????
Kristine
I was able to roll this deal twice, I had a previous RR for $5, bought the shave cream and Hydro and paid 0.98 plus tax the first and got the 8.00 in RR, then I did it two more times! I have the coupon to do it again, but they ran out of Hydro razors at my Walgreens, still nice that I got 3 high quality razors and 3 shaving creams!
Heather@BecauseMoreIsMore
I ran out to do this deal, but they were all out. FYI: The Walgreens Organic Medicated Lip Balm is on an unadvertised special for $1.24. A bit higher than the typical filler item, but one you could actually used (instead of buying kinda junky stuff, ya know?!). I really like this lip balm & this is a steal of a deal for organic lip balm!

I had 2 of the Hydro coupons but of course there were no razors at Walgreens. Plenty of cartridges though. Not able to take advantage of this and they said raincheck only for the razors, but the RR is a man. coupon so no RR with the raincheck. Did some other shopping then went to Target where there were only THREE razors left on the rack, 2 of the 3 blade & only 1 of the 5 blade. Asked customer service & they had someone get another 5 blade for me. Wasn’t planning a Target trip but after being at CVS where there were no razors (and Right Guard deo. was sparse but available) & Walgreens where there were no razors, figured I’d just continue up the road and get the Target deal. So I got a $5 gift card for Target with purchase of 2 razors. Wish people wouln’t be so greedy with these deals. How many razors, etc. does one person need anyway?

I was at Walgreens today and the EOS was slot was empty,a sign said to ask the beauty dept. about purchase. So when I was checking out I asked a sales rep. walking by. She told me “they put them all in the back because crazy people fill up the cart and buy them all” SERIOUSLY HOW RUDE
She went in the back and came out with one to give me to purchase. I really think that was rude. If Walgreens has limit they should just say that in the ad,then no problem. I only needed one anyway, but still it is not nice.
I also thought it rude, I am sure people fill up a cart of shaving cream REALLY!!!!
Has anyone else seen this sign at a Walgreen store?
This was at a store in Ohio
Kd
I am also in Ohio and was told on Monday that I can only buy 1 of each item that has a register reward per day. In the past I have never had a problem purchasing multiple. I never go overboard but I did have $50 in rr’s to spend and this really threw my plan which sucked. They now have signs that say one reward per person. I have to drive 20 minutes just to get to the closest WAGS so only being able to purchase one of each item really isn’t worth my time. I don’t want to purchase a ton but a couple would be nice. In the past they have limited certain things like the vitamins which I was never able to get and I never complained I realize it’s first come first serve but a limit of one is a little ridiculous. My WAGS never stocks anything very well and they always run out. I wonder if this is just Ohio stores.
Stacy
I am in Ohio and I have not yet been told this. I have been told by one cashier they will only do 3 transactions, and yet if I check out at cosmetics, they will usually do as many as I want. Again, I think that the shelves get cleared because the stock is just not there. If they only have 15 razors to begin with, even if people only bought 1 or 2, you can see why the shelves clear out quickly. It doesn’t take long. If Walgreens is out of your way and that particular stores gives you a lot of grief, you may want to try a different store. For example, I love CVS, but they are too far for me so I rarely go there because it’s not convenient to keep going back to use up the ECBs. You may also want to call around and see if another Walgreens in the area will not limit your transactions.
tracy
Also forgot to mention, we have a great CVS about rainchecks.
They give you the RR when you use it, They also cut out at staple the ad on the raincheck.
(this makes it easier for me so I can make sure I purchase the correct product and ge my RR)
Marc H.
@Tracy…RR is Walgreens, ECB at CVS…LOL all these letters get confusing ;)
And I prefer CVS too, where the ECBs spend like C-A-S-H not “manufacturer’s coupons” like the RR. I also remember (in the last month or so) that we got a raincheck at CVS for whatever it was and they will offer it to you with the ECBs so you don’t miss out. Walgreens didn’t want to offer me the RRs with the raincheck for the razors, so they lost my business (meaning $) for that product. Target was more than willing to sell me the razors and issue me a gift card. So it wasn’t as “high” of a moneymaker as Walgreens was, but at least it was something. And I stop at & shop in Target a lot. :)
Sales reps/cashiers/managers…ANYONE in a store or business where customer service is key should not call their customers or potential customers “crazy”, especially out loud in front of other customers…some people might get offended…but GREEDY is more the proper term. I had 2 coupons, I wanted to get 2 razors, and get my RRs for them. No luck. Not everyone can shop every store on the first day of a sale, clear the shelves, and leave nothing for others to get later. I saw it referred to as “smash & grab” on one site…like you’re robbing the place. Who knew shopping was so competitive? :P
Marc H.
One more thing, IF a store is going to limit quantities, then they should clearly have that in the ad & in the store on the shelves. I think if people are going to continue the “smash & grab” practice, especially if RRs are rolling (which I haven’t been able to do yet b/c the products are cleared out and/or I don’t have 100 of some coupons like some people buy extras), maybe stores will impose more limits and companies will offer fewer coupons? Might be bad in the long run. :p
Tricia H
I am waiting for coupons to arrive- thanks for the scenario.
Stacy
I know that it can be very frustrating when the stores run out of product, but it’s not always the store’s fault. Most of the time, the distribution center will send a store product based on how that store moves the product. So even though a manager might order extra product for a sale, oftentimes the distribution center will not send it to them if their store has not moved that particular product in the past. So many times it can be just as frustrating for them because they can’t serve their customers properly. I’ve often heard my Walgreen’s manager lament on how they never know what they will get. Many times there will be a monthly deal that will sell out in the first couple of days and they will get no more product the entire month. So yes, it can be frustrating. I would highly encourage you to let corporate know of your frustration with the store not having enough sale product on the shelf.
Barbara
People wonder why there are none on the shelf – but yet they are rolling? Hello – people clear shelves…. I’ve seen it all the time. Others don’t care about you getting the deal, they just want it for themselves. I’m not even stepping in Wags this week. I’m sure someone else has already cleared the shelf….. and I have enough shave stuff to last me another year or so.
Dani
I really hate it when a few people ruin it for everyone… what are you going to do with 8 zillion bottles of shaving cream?! This happens so often at my stores and it’s really disappointing :(
Paula Jolly
I can’t go everyday to every store either – it is frustrating when you just need 1 or 2…
kim
Big CVS fan, it elminates people from being greedy. I also love their raincheck policy so you can get your ECB and not feel like you wasted time and a trip if your product is out at the momment. I am also sooo sick of finding fillers at walgreens (you end up saving less) and going to the store and missing all the good deals b/c they only bring in 1 shipment of RR items, which tend to be gone by the first day of the sale. Plus if anything goes wrong with printing your RR most mangers/workers blame it on you and make a stink about it….. oh well the things we couponer do for a deal
cat
There is a target coupon (on their website) for the hydro razor 1.00 off plus you can stack it w/ the mfr. 5.00. If you buy two of the razors you can get the 5.00 gc for target. Thought this might help some out since you were having problems at wags.
Tracy
They had the shaving cream in stock!!!!!, they put it in the back room or somewhere, so people could not purchase it unless you asked for it.
That was the reason for the sign
Who are they to chose who can and cannot purchase an item?? I had no coupon I just thought a free shaving cream was a good deal and only wanted one!
I do love my CVS. They are so nice and really understand people who use coupons and are very helpful!!
I will not be going back to Walgreens even if an item is free!!!!
Evaa
Wags Sucks and CVS rocks and so does the little bit of Target. I love to shop but with a very speedy check out and Target does that. I have two kids and both of them are younger, so need to do the time management.for the deals, I rarely maybe once a month go to Wags @ Marshfield WI. The staff I say is very rude and does not know how to treat the customers. Though they opened, I should say rather reponed new WAgs, everything is the same. They always run out of stock.and when asked to cashier of any staff member they will say, “we are out and we don’t know whey the product will arrive. ” Just to mention there is no words like “SORRY” or “THANK YOU” in their dictonary. So I am decided or may be taking oath that never going to my Wags at Marshfield,WI.

Follow-up on Target. I had printed 2 of their Hydro coupons out a few days ago but didn’t have them with me on Wed. as it was a spur of the moment stop & I only put coupons I planned to use in the envelope I had with me. Then before I went to sleep I realized there were Target coupons to combine with man. ones! Called Target to ask if I could get the $ back and they said come in with receipt & coupons. No problem at all. Cheers to Target!
Sheree
shaving cream didn’t roll for me at wags. :(
Kathleen Thatcher
How can you tell when these RR’s are rolling?
