Walgreens: Almay Moneymaker Starting Sunday

March 17, 2011 by Stacy @ Saving in Akron 15 Comments

Walgreens has a great moneymaker on Almay Cosmetics starting this Sunday!  They are on sale for 30% off, plus you get $5 RRs with purchase.  There are two manufacturer’s coupons available that can be stacked with the Walgreens IVC found in the Walgreens Spring Beauty Guide.  Because there are 2 different manufacturer’s coupons and varying price points, I’ve laid out a table showing what the deal would be for each price point after the coupons and RRs.

Almay Cosmetics, 30% off
Get $5 RRs
$2/1 Almay Cosmetic Product, exp. 4-10-11 (SS 3/6/11)
$1/1 Almay Cosmetic Product, exp. 3-26-11 (SS 2/13/11)
$2/1 Almay Cosmetics (Walgreens Spring Beauty Guide)

Suggested Scenarios with $2 manufacturer’s coupon:

Price Less 30% Wags Coupon Mfg. Coupon OOP Total Cost After RRs
$5.99 $4.19 $2 $2 $0.19 $4.81 profit
$6.99 $4.89 $2 $2 $0.89 $4.11 profit
$7.49 $5.24 $2 $2 $1.24 $3.76 profit
$7.99 $5.59 $2 $2 $1.59 $3.41 profit
$8.49 $5.94 $2 $2 $1.94 $3.06 profit
$8.99 $6.29 $2 $2 $2.29 $2.71 profit

$10.99 $7.69 $2 $2 $3.69 $1.31 profit
$12.99 $9.09 $2 $2 $5.09 ($0.09)

I don’t usually go to Walgreens but I likely will for this deal. question regarding their in ad coupons. can you use only 1 per item or can you use it for multiple almay items. I have aquired a bunch of that ss and would like to stock up. It wouldn’t seem to be a good practice to require one per item as likely people grab a stack of the booklets. Thanks for the deal!

Nope, you only need one book. It scans and takes it off multiple times.

I *love* makeup deals like this. We’re saving for a wedding and carrying mortgages on two different houses right now (!!!) so really — there’s not wiggle room in the budget for fun stuff like this. Thank you for posting this deal!!!

Your breakdown was stellar and so appreciated! Now, if I could find the coupon booklet AND product as easily! Lol. I would love to get in on this but I’m afraid I’ll find the shelves cleared like I usually do. :(

:( The closest Walgreens is over an hour away from me. I’m so sad.

Are you sure that the IVC stacks with other manufacturer coupons? The back of the IVC reads, “…Manufacturer coupon good only at Walgreens…”

I stacked the revelon coupons this week with no problems. There is one in the beauty book along a manufacturer coupons I had. It should work the same with the almay.

Only if you do 3 seperate transactions. BUT! If you pay for the second transaction with the first printed Register Rewards your Rewards will not print for that item.

Thank you Crystal! I was able to get three Almay products for approximately $7 oop and got $15 rr back after I did three separate transactions. Just an FYI though…my spring beauty coupon wouldn’t scan and someone told the cashier to put it in manually as a manufacturer coupon. Of course that didn’t work because it was two manufacturers coupon on one item. The assistant manager came over and finally they did a manual price adjustment for the amount if the spring beauty coupon so that I could use both that coupon and my manufacturers coupon. It took about ten minutes but was worth it in my opinion. I’ve been looking for makeup for my wedding this summer. :)
