Soulful Giveaway: Win Seal’s Latest CD Soul

by Tara Kuczykowski on December 17, 2008 · 182 comments

seal_soul_albumThe hustle and bustle of the holiday season has really been taking its toll lately.

As you can imagine, I don't get a whole lot of "me" time as a mom of five, so I've learned to work in short bursts of relaxation when I can throughout the day to prevent myself from being overwhelmed by everything.

One of my favorite methods for relaxation lately is just taking a few minutes to listen to Seal's latest CD, Soul. I close my eyes and just become one with the music, and after about 15 minutes I've regained most of my sanity and am ready to tackle life head on again.

Soul features eleven classic soul songs, and I truly feel like there's something here for everyone. If you'd like to hear a taste, just check out the widget in my sidebar!

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win a copy of Soul so he or she can kick back and relax a little, and as an added bonus, you'll receive these great little Lego iPod speakers from Delight.com.
(I'm so jealous of these – I think they're just adorable!)

So tell me how do you unwind after a rough day? Can you tell when you haven't been taking enough time for yourself? How have your learned to make time? I know I struggle with this, so I would assume a lot of you do as well, and I'm looking forward to you sharing your tips.

I like to read while taking a long hot bath. I also try to make sure that the dryer is on to drowned out the noise because I know my husband will let the kids run wild while I take said bath...

I make myself a cup of rich, dark Droste cocoa, sit back with my cat next to me and put on a good film that I've kept on my Tivo and continue on whatever project that I am knitting at the time for one of my granddaughters! (Oh yes, by the way, I've been married forever...it's just that we don't like to watch the same kind of tv programs!)

I read a humor book to relax.

Long, hot shower using every lotion, potion, mousse and gel in the house. Squeeky clean, wrap myself in my fluffy robe and sit with a crossword puzzle (sometimes a trashy gossip magazine), in the winter a big cup of cocoa with a bowl full of mini marshmallows on the side for replenishing. The Fleet Foxes or the new Meet Glen Campbell c.d. on low.

I crank up the rock & roll and dance like a maniac until I sweat away the stress!
Gosh those lego speakers are cute! Someone made mini shelves in their home with leggo's.

My relaxing tip is to go home. Normally this isn't a good tip for most people but I live by myself so going home means I'm going to my "quiet" place. VERY relaxing!
