This is a fantastic deal. The RRs on the Schick Hydro Shave Gel are rolling, so if you purchase a second Hydro Shave Gel, you can use the RRs from the first transaction to pay for it. However, remember you will need to get a filler since the price of the Shave Gel is $2.99 and the RR is $3.

Is this still rolling? Has anyone gone out today to this deal? I went last night and did it 3x but if it’s still good today I would like to go again after work!
Stacy
It has been rolling today. If it were to stop, it generally would reset at midnight.
Christy
It is still rolling in Oklahoma City as of noon.
Keep in mind that buying more Schick using the $3 RR is not truly a money-maker since you are using $3 RR to pay. The $3 RR you earn is cancelled out by the $3 RR you use, so your net cost is still $0.23 plus tax, if applicable. But hey, that still a great deal!
Stephanie
I wouldn’t consider this a moneymaker. After the 2 transactions, you have taken $3.23 out of your wallet and you end up with a $3 RR. You have spent $.24, which is fine and a great deal, but shouldn’t be labeled as a moneymaker.
The problem in the way this is laid out is that the first $3 RR is being accounted for twice (you apply it to the first transaction to call it “free” and then you use it on the second transaction). It’s kind of brain-twisting and can make your head hurt if you think about it too hard. You just have to be sure to account for all the money that really leaves your pocket and what you end up with when all is said and done.

Biore is also still rolling as of today!!! great with the b1g1 coupon!!

I have taken my prev RR that I had from last week and been rolling it each time with a cheap filler. The way I look at it I am paying .30 per bottle and I still have my $3RR for next week or any other deal I might want to do later. It might not be a money maker but it’s a great stock up price in my book.
Mariah
I completely agree with Stephanie. I don’t like to use the terms “Like paying….” when it comes to register rewards because you are still paying something out of pocket to get the RR. You don’t “make money” when you have to initially pay for something to get the RR. And you still have to go back and use the RR before it expires and will spend more OOP.

I always add up what I pay out of pocket and compare that to the value of the items I bought. I always end up with great deals from all the wonderful information I receive from this website. I have limited myself to a $5 out of pocket limit per store (CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid) per week. There are some great links on the CVS weekly deals page to help you stick to that $5 limit. For those of us who are doing this weekly, we often have rewards from the previous week to start out with. That is possibly the mindset when thinking the initial shave gel is “free”. Any way you look at it, we all are getting a great deal.
Stephanie
You just have to decide when you are mentally going to “use” you RR (or ECBs). If you want to mentally use them before you get them (the “like paying” mentality), then you need to consider your RRs like cash in future transactions (ie in #2 above you would have “spent” $3.23 or so “cash” because you already mentally used the RR in #1). You just have to be careful to not trick yourself into thinking you’re “using” your RRs on both ends (before and after actually receiving them) or you won’t save nearly as much as you think you are.

worked like a charm ! thanks
Melinda
Agreed Stephanie! I count my RR/ECB when I receive them and as cash or OOP expenses when I use them. I go to CVS & Wags atleast once a week b/c they are less than 1 mile from my house so I always have a chance to use my RR/ECB. Now when I go, there is very little exchange of actual money. I pay mostly with pieces of paper :)

Well, has anyone tried this deal out yet to see if the Schick HydroGel RR is rolling?? Please let us know…..
Janice Franklin
Where I live you can use the RR to pay for the same product but you do not get another RR for the item. So in Transaction #2, I would not get the $3 RR.
Stacy
That is generally true for all Walgreens, but in this particular case, the RR is rolling. That’s why it’t such a big deal — because they generally don’t roll.
kim
my walgreens wouid not let me even try to roll the shaving cream. they said it was cheating the system. so i just used the u kotex rewards on it. they said that u are only allowed to buy one a day so there will be some for other people. they said they are fixng to do away with the rewards they cause to much trouble. Any one else here anything about this.
Kim
The register rewards from Walgreens works as a manufactors coupon at Meijer. They have scanned without any problems for me. They even work if they are expired!
Shelly
i went tonight around 9 central time and it rolled. i didnt have any issued, but I didnt make a big deal about the fact that I was rolling them. Worked like a charm!!

I went last night close to 10pm in Dallas, TX and it was still rolling. I was able to get 6 then I stopped. I have 2 walgreens close to me one walgreens will not let you roll or even buy more than one of the same product that gives you a RR even if you pay OOP. The second Wags was totally cool abt it they did not say a thing, the guy was just like good deal! If anyone tries this today let us know I would like to go out again and do this!!
Kelly
I’ve checked around the site and can’t find a definition of “rolling”. I’m assuming this means you can roll it over to the next transaction of the same product. A couple of weeks ago someone said the Dove shampoo was rolling, but when I tried it, I did not get a RR on the second transaction. I want to return it–will that be a problem? Also, it sounds as if they might stop this at any time–is it because it was actually an oversight by wags in the first place?
Kells
Yes! Rolling is when you are able to use the same RR that printed out on the same item and still receive another one. Usually you can use the same RR but you won’t get another RR. When the Dove happened I believe it ended Tuesday morning, with the schick it was still working yesterday and it’s still working! I just had my Mom go and check it out awhile ago and she did it 4x. I am not sure what triggers this I remember once Huggies was doing the same thing and they kept rolling for until a Saturday before the sale ended. Also to your question, yes you can return your Dove I have done that in the past with items before thinking another RR might print out.
Jessica
Confirmed still rolling as of 4/14 at 1130 am. I bought 5 using a cadbury egg on clearance each transaction as a filler and cost me $0.34 each time. Good as free if you ask me!
Laura
Can anyone else confirm that this is still rolling?
Tricia
Did not roll for me tonight. Was good while it lasted.
AC
Be careful…just because RRs are rolling in one area it doesn’t mean they will in others. I made that mistake last summer with the Pilot pens when people said they were rolling. Luckily it only cost me $1 but don’t go in blindly thinking it’ll work because it did for one person. Obviously Walgreens as a whole has major consistency problems when it comes to running a nationwide company
Stacy
This can be true, but you can return the item if the RR doesn’t print.
mary
Anyone tried today?
Sarah B.
I did it Wed 4/15 in Austin and it did not roll. I was crushed as I’m trying to collect free products for charity. I’m going to try to return it today, but i don’t expect it to be a lot of fun.
