Can anyone tell me what’s going on with the sales starting on Saturday? I heard from a friend that you can start shopping Saturday night now, but I wasn’t sure how “official” that was and don’t want to do something I’m not supposed to. Is this something they’re advertising now? Can anyone confirm?

Consensus seems to be that it varies by store–some can switch-on the new week’s deals during the day on Saturday. Check the tags on the shelves, see which circular the store has on display, check the price scanner machine, and/or talk to your cashiers–lots of ways to tell if your store is setting up early.
Watch what deals you are looking for though–my store turned everything on Saturday, but the special Sun,Mon,Tues only deals weren’t active yet.
