Target: Christmas Clearance 90% Markdown

January 7, 2011 by Beth @ In Good Cents 15 Comments

Target Grocery Coupons

You’ve been patiently waiting and I’m happy to say it’s finally happened!  Almost all Target stores have lowered the price of their Christmas clearance items to 90% off regular prices.  Now is the time to head in to stock up on lights, ornaments, decor, and other Christmas favorites for this year.

For more holidays, Target’s clearance markdown schedule is consistent, but for Christmas, it may vary by store!  Here’s Target’s typical holiday markdown schedule for future references:

  • Post Holiday Day 1-3: 50%
  • Post Holiday Day 4-6: 75%
  • Post Holiday Day 7-8: 90%

Don’t forget to check out this week’s Target Deals and the Ongoing Target Deals for more opportunities to save.

I just call my store when they open and ask them the current discount. I call daily, and they always know immediately what the discount is. I really like to be one of the first there when it goes from 75 to 90. Then I can rationalize buying things to donate.. baby clothes, food items etc.

A tip I got from a friend: buy Christmas wrapping paper on clearance, unroll it upside-down on the floor, and voila! A huge, white canvas for my 2-year-old! :o)

My Target has had it for a few days. There were mostly cards left.

I wish the local Targets (yes I have many to pick from) still had Christmas stuff in stock

I wish my nearest local Target had Christmas stuff left. It was pretty slim-picking the last time I was in there, which was only a week ago. I doubt there are anything left by now.

My problem is I buy a bunch after Christmas and forget about it….then go buy the stuff right before Christmas. I am ashamed to admit I found several boxes of ornaments, tree skirts and such AFTER I had shopped this year. :p

FYI: if anyone finds the Pillsbury Christmas Funfetti Cake, the green and red funfetti pieces are in a separate pouch, so it is just a white cake mix that would work great for anything!

I purchased not christmas looking ornaments at 90% off and made mobiles with my kids for their rooms. Great activity for a cold day!
Also bought streamers and other red and white things for my son’s Valentine Day party at school.

Its such as you learn my thoughts! You appear to know so much about this, such as you wrote the book in
it or something. I feel that you can do with some p.
    c. to drive the message house a bit, but instead of
that, this is magnificent blog. A great read. I’ll definitely be back.

Howdy! Do you know if they make any plugins to protect against hackers?
I’m kinda paranoid about losing everything I’ve worked hard
    on. Any tips?
