Walgreens: Colgate RRs Rolling and FREE Dulcolax

September 14, 2010 by Stacy @ Saving in Akron 15 Comments

Colgate Total
The Colgate RRs at Walgreens are rolling, making it a great time to stock up on toothpaste.

Transaction #1

Buy (1) Colgate Total Advanced or Enamel Strength Toothpaste (4 oz.), $2.99
Get $2 RRs

$1/1 Colgate Toothpaste, exp. 9-18-10 (SS 8/29/10)
$1/1 Colgate Toothpaste, Diabetes & You Magazine
$1/1 Colgate Select Colgate Toothpaste, exp. 10-2-10 (SS 9/12/10)
FREE after coupon and RRs!

Transaction #2

Buy (1) Colgate Total Advanced or Enamel Strength Toothpaste (4 oz.), $2.99
Get $2 RRs
$1/1 Colgate Toothpaste, exp. 9-18-10 (SS 8/29/10)
$1/1 Colgate Toothpaste, Diabetes & You Magazine
$1/1 Colgate Select Colgate Toothpaste, exp. 10-2-10 (SS 9/12/10)
AND use $2 RR from Transaction #1
FREE after coupon and RRs!

You will need to purchase a small filler for Transaction #2.  I usually buy a small Laffy Taffy for $0.10 each, and you can find them right by the registers.

DULCOLAX

Dulcolax is also a good deal this week, and it may even be a money maker.  With this deal, you may or may not get an overage, depending on your store.  Technically, Walgreens new coupon policy requires them to adjust the coupon down to the price of the item, but either way, it’s still a good deal.

Buy (1) Dulcolax (4 pk., 54 ct., 7 day or 4.1 oz.), $6.99
$8/1 Dulcolax Balance 7 doses printable
$2/1 Dulcolax Balance Suppository/Tablets, exp. 9-25 (Walgreens, Sep)
Better than FREE after stacked coupons!

RR’s are Register Rewards which you can use like cash on your next transaction.

Got 2 of the Dulcolaxes, and the Colgate and got an overage in a different store than where I normally shop! I paid 0.00! And got $2 in RR’s! Sweet!

Have you tried showing them a copy of the new National Walgreens Coupon Policy…it says that they will adjust it down.

I thought you couldn’t use RR from one transaction for the toothpaste on the exact same transaction and still get the additional RR. I thought you couldn’t use RR to buy the exact same item and get additional RR. Am I wrong?

Sometimes (often) that is true. That is what they mean when they say the RR are rolling – that you can you the previous one and roll it into the same deal.

that’s what the written policy says. and i follow it as i dont want any hassle if i can avoid it especially if there;s somebody waiting next in line.

i’ve taken note too that RRs are manufacturers’ coupons and not store coupons. so your item number count should always be plus 1 when you are using both a regular manufacturer’s coupon and an RR. otherwise you’ll get an annoying beeping sound from the register.

for example i had a carmex lotion RR for 4$ and a v8 RR for 1$. + an impruv manufacturer’s coupon for 2$. i was buying impruv lotion 4.99, carmex lip balm 2.99 and sunday’s newspaper 2$. the register was beeping on the manuf coupon. i think i had to add another item to get all the coupons working. the cashier said my manuf coupon is not working. i just didnt push it or add another item as the cashier didnt seem to be savvy about coupon use..

it’s a hassle to use RR but i’ll take it. i just wish that they’d reclassify it as a store coupon rather than as a manuf coupon.

My Walgreens wont take the $8 coupon, I showed them the ad from the paper telling you were to get the coupon and they told me it was to high of a value coupon. Ive been hearing that at stores a lot lately including with the Kraft one and those ads were right on the products. Does Walgreens have anything like Rite Aid in the policy stating a limit on the value of IPs I know RA is $5.

On Sunday, my Walgreen’s clerk told me she couldn’t use the $8 coupon on the Ducolax because it cost less. I told her about the Coupon Policy on their website. She called the manager and he told her to take it. Even though they did accept it, I still contacted Wags Customer Service to let them know of my dissatisfaction that they are not educating and training their employees. If enough people do the same thing, maybe they will put the word out. What good is a poliy if nobody knows about it or it’s not being honored?
