sorry, I must be extra stupid today. Does the Staples Rewards mean you get a check back for the $49 purchase price?

Staples rewards are not cash or check back. The rewards are issued in the form of like a credit that you can use in the store and they usually expire in about 2 months from the date of issue. Still a good deal.

Forgot to mention that you need to sign up for a staples rewards card to get the rewards. The card is free.
