Dollar Tree to Start Accepting Coupons

August 21, 2012 by Deal Seeking Mom 6 Comments

Reportedly the Dollar Tree stores are going to start accepting coupons!  Some stores will start this policy on 8/26, with the remainder of the stores nationwide joining in September some time.  Check with your local store to know when to expect some great deals.  Here’s a bit of the coupon policy as we know it now:

  • Only 2 like coupons allowed per transaction.
  • B1G1 FREE coupons are NOT allowed.
  • Only 2 internet printable coupons allowed per order.
  • Coupons that require the cashier to write in the price are NOT allowed.

  • Coupons that give you a FREE item when purchasing a select item are NOT allowed.
  • Retailer specific coupons are NOT allowed.
  • Coupons must be presented at time of purchase.
  • Coupons cannot be redeemed for more than the value of the product.

Thanks, Dollar Store Deals!

I’m a big dollar tree fan, but so much of their stuff is generic. I’m wondering what this will actually cover.

I’m trying to think of what I buy that’s name brand that might have a coupon. Toothpaste. Candy. They carry some name brand cheeses sometimes, but will the sizes be too small for coupons.

I’ll have to look around more when I’m in there next.

Now, if Big Lots would follow suit, that would be awesome!

This is great. Our dollar tree has cleaning supplies, shampoo, soap, tissues, deodorant and toothpast that is name brand. I’ve often wished that they would accept coupons. I hope that it happens in our area!

I am a manager at a Dollar Tree in Charleston, SC and I am very excited for this. I believe the store that have frozen food will get a bigger turn out with coupons. The best thing to do is ask the manager what day tuck day is then come in around 2 days later with coupons by then they should have all the name brand products out that will go with the coupons. Good luck everyone. If your in Dollar Tree #825 stop and say HI!

I just used a few that were on the package in the store. The new kraft grilling and salad combo sauces. i just wanted to share one other thing i thought was important while talking to manager. They have to key in each coupon. They don’t just scan them. it takes more time.

I am from Chicago, IL and I went to the Dollar Tree in the brickyard area. I was very disappointed when I was advised I can only use one coupon per transaction. I hgad 7 products and 6 coupons but could not use them all in one transaction. I have notified the corporate office of Dollar Tree and hope I can get clarificaiton on their coupon policy. This is very disappointing and hope there will be clarlfication!!!
