Target: FREE Lego Set with $5 Gift Card Purchase!

December 20, 2011 by Tara Kuczykowski 15 Comments

Some of you may remember the cute Target Bullseye Dog Lego gift cards from last year. Well, I was at Target this afternoon, and they’re back — and three times as cute because the set transforms from Bullseye to a polar bear to a snowman!

Look for these special Lego-brand gift cards on an endcap in the greeting cards section. You can load it with as little as $5 and score the FREE Bullseye Dog Lego set. Use it as a stocking stuffer or just a little something extra under the tree!

Be sure to check out these Target deals before you head out.

My Target sold out of these within a week in the beginning of Nov. — but they also said you had to buy a $25 gift card to get one?

I had to search, but I found one at my Target in Avon, Indiana. And, I only put $5 on it with no issues. Bought it for the Legos rather than the gift card as my husband is a Lego-maniac.

Thanks for letting us know about this one.

Ten of us are looking for these all the time, since the end of October and they are always gone. My other friend found two and was able to load them with 5 bucks each. Good luck finding them. They are impossible to find.

Wow, guess I should have bought more! An associate was just stocking the rack when I walked up, so there’s still hope for those of you looking for them.

If you’re local, I bought mine at the Target on 256 near Reynoldsburg.

How exactly does this work? When you load the card, does it print out a coupon for the free lego set, or do you take the lego set with you to the register? I would like to go at lunch time today, just want to make sure I get it right before I go.

I don’t understand how if you put $5 on the card then turn around and spend it on the cute little Lego set, how is that free?
Or is it a Gift Card that just happens to have a Lego picture on it, but you can use it on anything you want?

For those who are confused… the gift card comes with legos that can be used to build a dog, a snowman, or a polar bear. If you purchase a gift card (put as little as $5 on it) then you can use the gift card next time you are shopping at Target and keep the legos that came with it.

Dawn is correct. The Lego set IS the gift card, so you get it free when you load as little as $5 on it. You can do this in one transaction and turn around and spend the $5 in the next transaction.

I was able to find these at a bunch of different Targets and I’m in Chicago so I thought they’d be sold out. I also ordered one on-line for $25 so I’m not sure if there’s a minimum online purchase or if it’s too late to be delivered for Christmas. I gave one to my son for St. Nick’s Day and I don’t even think he realized there was a gift card attached! lol

I just wanted to say thank you! I was able to get the last Lego gift card set at my local Target (7:00 p.m. on Wednesday) in Raleigh. Tara, the gift cards were just where you said (end cap, greeting card section).

Shamra, the Lego set is free when you buy a gift card (I bought a $5 card). The Lego set is physically attached to the gift card. You can leave the Lego set attached to the gift card and give both as a Christmas gift. Or, you can open the package, give the Lego set as a gift, and keep the gift card for yourself.

I didn’t know these were so hard to find! I bought some right after Thanksgiving at my local Target. I put $10 on each of them for my kids’ stockings. They’re really cute! This is the first year I noticed them. I’ll have to remember for next year that they go fast and look for them early again.

Has anyone seen the Target gift cards with the free reusable bags? I’m just wondering where these special gift cards are found in the store. Thanks!

Yesterday, I found 2 at the Factoria Mall Target in the Lego aisle. Tonight, I found 1 in the Redmond Target, also in the Lego aisle. However, I asked a sales associate in the electronics counter if they had another one, and he pulled a open a relatively full box and asked me how many I wanted! I was stunned. Lesson: ask the sales people for items!
