We have tomatoes every year, but we normally buy the plants when they are small, repot each into a larger container so they can develop stronger roots, and then put them in the ground around Mother’s Day weekend.
When I click on the kids link, I get a message from the webpage saying out of memory at line 8 and it just keeps refreshing the Red Robin home page, so not working for me :-(
We live on half an acre and have a pretty large garden every year. We are still getting the hang of it though. Like Nancy we buy the tomato plants. I tried using seeds and starting them in the house for 2 years and could never get them to work.
I have grown beans, zinnias, and lettuce with no problem. I have guaranteed seeds packets for the spring but I am researching on biotech
germinating gel.
absolutely…the kids get involved with everything from watering to planting to weeding to harvest and then processing for winter. I feel it is great for them to learn and plus we start most of our plants from seed indoors in April….so they get to see them from start to the dinner table!!! And they love eating it because they did a lot of the hard work.
