12 Days of Christmas: Shenzhen Knife Set (4 Winners!)

by Tara Kuczykowski on November 28, 2010 · 1,225 comments

I'm excited to offer another fun 12 Days of Christmas series at Deal Seeking Mom. Each day through 12/7, I'll post a new 3-day giveaway! Browse all of the giveaways here.

I love kitchen gadgets of all kinds, so I was excited to try out the Shenzhen Ceramic Knives after reading about the many benefits that ceramic knives offer over traditional steel knives:

  • Ceramic knives stay sharper longer. They're harder than steel and will hold their edge longer.
  • They will not rust and and are easy to clean.
  • Ceramic knives won't affect the taste of food or cause it to turn brown.
  • They're lightweight, making them easy and comfortable to use.

So what's my verdict? They certainly are every bit as sharp as their website says. My finger can attest to that, LOL. The only drawback I can see? Because ceramic knives are very delicate, they can't be used for more aggressive chopping and deboning, so you will still need to have several steel knives on hand for these tasks.

The good news is that Shenzhen Ceramic Knives are a fantastic price for the quality compared to many other highly recommended ceramic knives. So if you're looking for a good set of ceramic knives at a bargain price, this set fits the bill!

Four Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a 3-piece Shenzhen knife set (chef’s knife, slicing knife and paring knife) and peeler.

NEVER

Am I supposed to sharpen my knives? Actually, never. I don't sharpen them because they aren't good quality to begin with. So, new, nice, good quality knifes would be really appreciated.

I should sharpen my knives, but I don't...I really probably need to! :)

I sharpen them once in a great while, once they are having trouble cutting through easy things.

9 Deana c December 1, 2010 at 9:54 am

I have never had my knives sharpened. I end up buying new ones.

10 Pam Coley December 1, 2010 at 10:08 am

We're supposed to sharpen them? That's why they're so dull. Sure could use some new ones!

11 Kristy Figueroa December 1, 2010 at 10:25 am

Never but really need to learn how...

12 HolleyV December 1, 2010 at 10:26 am

I haven't sharpened mine--guess it's time to learn how--or win some new ones!

13 HolleyV December 1, 2010 at 10:27 am

I'm in on Facebook.

14 Sue E December 1, 2010 at 10:39 am

I never sharpen my knives. They got so dull recently that I did use the sharpening tool that came with them, but it didn't help much-guess that's due to cheap knives!

15 Yvonne December 1, 2010 at 10:40 am

I sure could use this. I cook quite a bit and my knifes are so dule they won't even cut a tomato. This would be awesome...

16 Karlie December 1, 2010 at 10:43 am

I don't need to sharpen mine hardly ever. I have a few cutco, and those last for years...

17 Candice December 1, 2010 at 10:44 am

I usually just buy more knives.. I don't sharpen mine only because I didn't know you could! I feel stupid! lol

18 Karlie December 1, 2010 at 10:44 am

I follow on facebook!

19 Karlie December 1, 2010 at 10:47 am
