This time of year, I’m all about getting into a store, getting what I need, and getting back out as quickly as possible. Actually, that’s my M.O. year round but most especially during the holidays…
I’d much rather do my shopping online, but that means loads of boxes showing up on my doorstep — boxes that my kids (some of whom still believe in Santa Claus) are begging to open. So I can either hope that the delivery man shows up before they get home from school, or I have to come up with some excuse as to why they can’t open a package.
This is why I love Walmart store pickup! I can order online and have my package shipped directly to my local store for FREE. When my package arrives, I’ll receive both an email and a text message letting me know that I can pick up my package. Which means that I can pick up my packages the next time I need to pick up more milk and bread — so convenient!
How Walmart Store Pickup Works
I recently ordered a pair of the Emma jeggings shown above with Walmart store pickup. I picked them up, along with the cute blanket scarf, on a quick grocery trip. Simple and easy!
By the way, they are an incredible value for the low price of $16.88! I’ve received SO many compliments on them… My friends were stunned when I told them they were from Walmart.
Anyhow, if you look at the circled area below, this is where you look when shopping online to see if an item is available for store pickup.
Simply add the item to your shopping cart, select your local store for pickup, and continue through the checkout process. In some cases, if your item is sold in stores, it will be available for pickup the same day — which is a totally great way to avoid the crowd.
Where To Pickup Your Items At Walmart
My store just completely refreshed their pickup area, so it’s pretty hard to miss now. Just look for the bright orange color and the bold “Pickup Here” signage. Give the clerk your name or order number, and he or she will promptly retrieve your package from the storage area.
Note that this is typically a different location from the Customer Service desk, which will be a dark blue color. If in doubt, I’m sure a Walmart greeter will be able to point you in the correct direction.
Have you tried Walmart Pickup yet? Or do you plan to try it this holiday season?
