Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!
Looking for a fun, summer project to do with the kids? KLUTZ books always have some great options, like this new KLUTZ Glossy Bands book. The Klutz Glossy Bands book comes with everything you need to create beautiful, stretchy bracelets to share with your friends. Plus you can tailor the designs to your child’s skill level — from a simple two-color dot bracelet to a more complicated four-color flower bracelet.
If your child is into the Silly Bandz craze, he or she is sure to love making Glossy Bands! The book comes with enough gel to make 14 bracelets, so this should provide several rainy days’ worth of fun. Though it’s not demonstrated in the book, they also mention that you can make rings using the same techniques, so I’d imagine you could stretch it even further this way.
Five lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a copy of the Klutz Glossy Bands book with 4 colors of gel, clear plastic work surface, swirling sticks, and Klutz clear instructions for tons of bracelet designs!

Anything involving latch hook, even though that may be the most useless craft ever invented.

My mom always kept a box of scrap material and other odds and ends. As a kid I was always free to rumage through and use my imagination to make what ever I wanted. I almost always made something for my mom. I remember making many potapouri satchels.
I have a newborn, 2 year old and 7 year old. The 2 and 7 year olds love to paint. I let them go crazy on inexpensive canvases and use them as artwork for my house. (doesn’t always match, but it’s priceless to hear my 2 year old point to his painting and say “I did that”)

Do you remember the 80’s? I was a kid during the height of Swatch watches, jelly shoes, fat laces, and pet rocks. My favorite craft when I was a kid was to make those little friendship charms (think beaded safety pins) to wear on shoelaces. I had cats, and can you imagine the mess when a cat got on the table and stepped on the bead tray? Picture a volcano of beads erupting and a freaked out cat scratching up the table trying to get away!!!!

i was a craft-a-holic as a kid, actually i still am! i think my fav. thing to craft was braclets, friendship, hemp, sailor knots, loved making braclets. my girls are super crafters now, we spend several days a week working on something, i think it helps grow their imagination and so many other basic skills. we really enjoy t-shirt making right now they have their own sets of fabric markers, stencils, jems and all kinds of other good stuff. they love to make new shirts!
