Enter to Win: Bugs In My Hair Prize Pack (3 Winners!)

by Tara Kuczykowski on October 3, 2013 · 214 comments

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

Is something bugging you?! Bestselling award-winner David Shannon shows the funny side of waging war against--oh no!--head lice. Bugs in My Hair is guaranteed to make you laugh--and itch! From the opening picture of a happy, over-sized louse appearing with his suitcases, you know these bugs are determined to stay, and Mom is about to go nuts!

Author David Shannon peppers his hilarious scenes with fun, "nitpicking" facts about these "lousy" critters and pokes fun at common denial: "It's probably ash from that volcano in Pogo Pogo." Once again Shannon has created a fresh, highly entertaining read-aloud classic that begs to be read again and again.

“If anyone can make a case of head lice fun, it’s Shannon. He humorously captures and normalizes the panic, embarrassment, and tedium of this common grade-school affliction. Even the mom’s reactions -- first panic, then phantom head-itch, then mountains of laundry -- are perfect!”
--Susan Kunhardt, Book Passage, Corte Madera, CA

Yes i have experience with head lice. My oldest has had a couple of outbreaks in her class when younger. She got it about 3 times so I became a pro and getting them out. Now I use tea tree oil in the shamppoos to help repel them. I don't want to go through all that ever again

I only had one experience with lice and it was when my little sister used my brush and later that day discovered she had lice. It was gross...lots of picking and washing...hopefully my daughter never has to go through the whole ordeal. Fingers crossed!
