We keep a coin jar. Usually take it to Coinstar about two or three times a year.
Holly
Yes, I count it once a year or so. I finally rolled and deposited our jar of pennies – $14.00. Not a lot of money, but it was a lot of pennies!

I have a big old pickle jar that we throw our change into. When it’s full we “count” it at Coinstar. That money usually goes to bills or buying the kid’s birthday or christmas gifts.

I have a coin jar! I counted last year for the first time ever when CoinStar was having this promotion last year, and I had over $100 in it. I have not counted since, but since they are doing it again I am going to count again! I bet I have some spare change in my car to add too…. and at the bottom of my purse… and on the top of my dresser… and in my coat pockets….

We have a Donald Duck ‘piggy bank’. We fill it with our loose change and use it to give the kids their allowance every Saturday. They are young and mostly get coins, so counting the coins is good practice for a 2 and 4 year old! Don’t empty and count it hardly ever since it all goes to the kids pretty regularly. ;-)
Kathy Temples
Yes we keep a coin jar and use it for vacation money each year.
Julianne L
No coin jar, but I have tend to throw a lot of change into the armrest compartment in my car. That way there’s aways coins for metered parking and laundry!

We have a change jar at home and this month when it was full my daughter and I cashed it in and used the money to shop for toys for the salvation army stocking drive they were having. She really enjoyed picking out the gifts and it was hopefully teaching a good lesson too.

I have a huge chinese gold painted piggy bank. I put my lose change in it until the piggy’s belly is full of $$$.

Keep a coin jar but have NEVER cashed it in. Will most likely use it on a Lowe’s card for Home Improvement.

We keep a coin jar but we’ve never emptied it. I grab quarters when I need to run through the car wash and my husband uses change for vending machines when he travels.
