by Tara Kuczykowski on December 22, 2008 · 1,303 comments

gingerbread_man_cardHome Depot is my favorite store to shop at for DIY projects, and we've often purchased Home Depot gift cards for our family members because it's a fun and easy gift idea. After all, they have something for everyone!

Home Depot gift cards are a great idea for the do-it-herself-ers and handymen on your gift lists, and if you're scrambling for some last minute ideas, this is a great solution! This year The Home Depot has 17 holiday gift card styles to choose from, including a scratch-n-sniff gingerbread man that can be decorated with stickers and a card that looks and feels like it is covered with the handyman's wrapping paper - duct tape.

Maybe a gift card is too impersonal for you and you're still struggling to come up with new holiday gift ideas? This year, leave the sweaters and fruit baskets behind and get the do-it-yourselfer in your life a selection of great tools, which can be affordable and practical gifts that last for years and never go out of style. The Home Depot offers hundreds of tools and home improvement products ensuring that you’ll find appropriate gifts for the new homeowner, weekend warrior or experienced pro. Featured in the photos below are the new Ryobi® Lithium-Ion 4 Piece 12V Kit (Price: $149, SKU 285-630) and the new Makita 10.8V Li-Ion 2 Piece Cordless Combo Kit (Price: $179, SKU 637-212).

My garage is a mess! And what a better way to get an organized garage by using HyLoft Ceiling Mounted Shelves. Why not access every inch of the space that you own in your home and install a ceiling mounted shelf to help you get all your *junk* up off the garage floor! Besides we all know the nightmare that can occur after Christmas when we take down all the lights, yard decorations, christmas trees, and then you need to find a place to put it. These ceiling racks have an adjustable height and can hold up to 250lbs.....thats perfect for all my *junk*! And who knows, maybe I would even be able to pull my car back in the garage. What a luxury that would be!

Since propane is what provides us our heat and its so HIGH in price...we have been unable so far this winter to turn up our heat at all....with hubby on shutdown we cannot afford to have the propane filled...so we have been using 1 heater in the main living area....so I would buy 4 everstar portable heaters for the bedrooms and kitchen and than use the remaining amount to buy flashlights and batteries since our little town loses electricity every winter at least once...LOL!
