Do It Yourself Giveaway: $100 Home Depot Gift Card

by Tara Kuczykowski on December 22, 2008 · 1,303 comments

gingerbread_man_cardHome Depot is my favorite store to shop at for DIY projects, and we've often purchased Home Depot gift cards for our family members because it's a fun and easy gift idea. After all, they have something for everyone!

Home Depot gift cards are a great idea for the do-it-herself-ers and handymen on your gift lists, and if you're scrambling for some last minute ideas, this is a great solution! This year The Home Depot has 17 holiday gift card styles to choose from, including a scratch-n-sniff gingerbread man that can be decorated with stickers and a card that looks and feels like it is covered with the handyman's wrapping paper - duct tape.

Maybe a gift card is too impersonal for you and you're still struggling to come up with new holiday gift ideas? This year, leave the sweaters and fruit baskets behind and get the do-it-yourselfer in your life a selection of great tools, which can be affordable and practical gifts that last for years and never go out of style. The Home Depot offers hundreds of tools and home improvement products ensuring that you’ll find appropriate gifts for the new homeowner, weekend warrior or experienced pro. Featured in the photos below are the new Ryobi® Lithium-Ion 4 Piece 12V Kit (Price: $149, SKU 285-630) and the new Makita 10.8V Li-Ion 2 Piece Cordless Combo Kit (Price: $179, SKU 637-212).

I need to repaint the kitchen, so I'd buy some really nice paint, and I'm sure that would be less than $100, so I'd also like to get a new light fixture for the bathroom.

Thanks for the great giveaway.

Home Depot is literally right down the street, and I definitely could use new paintbrushes!! The professional Purdy brand to be specific. Also, a piece of our fence blew down (gotta love the Windy City!), and needs replacement. All could be had at the lovely Home Depot :) Thanks for the entry and happy New Year!

FANTASTIC giveaway! We are in the middle of remodeling, so there's no end to what we could buy! We would probably put it towards wood to finish the deck with, but I also need a new oven badly, so it could help offset the cost of something like this:

Thanks so much for the chance!

43 Ann Wortham December 28, 2008 at 2:43 am

I'm boring, I suppose -- we need some new shelving for the garage and they have these wonderful plastic shelving units at Home Depot. We'd buy a set of them. And maybe a Christmas tree if there are still some in stock -- we want a smaller one for next year for the living room.

44 Samantha Pruitt December 28, 2008 at 2:44 am

I want to make my own button tuffed headboard. I would buy plywood, batting, foam, a screwdriver and a staple gun and staples to make my very own victorian style rich looking headboard.
