For those of you who live near STL, buy the St. Louis Post Dispatch. They sell these cheaper at Deals, usually by Monday. Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice....we know about that economy our whole family lives there in Howell.
We however just moved to the St. Louis area in southeran IL. So as I was familiar with maybe subscribing to the Detroit Free Press..I am not so sure what to do here. So I bought my local paper at the grocery store last week and it only had one insert. Maybe I should try a St. Louis paper....I had put money in a machine and then there wasn't a paper so I got ripped off....Not sure which one to subscribe to yet...I didn't know that the ones at the store and the ones you get at home have different coupons..wow! Thanks for your help!

Tara-Thanks for your help, I think I will try the St. Louis one this week instead of our local one.
I didn't want to subscribe just yet as I am new to the area and I wasn't sure the best one to get...

I'm from just outside Detroit, our large papers the New and Free Press have the coupon inserts with all the coupons in them... however my parents get the paper delivered and also get one of the more local papers. Both come with different inserts... then my county paper comes with different ones also... so in the end I buy 2 papers from 7 11, get 2 from my parents and uncle of local... then there delivered papers and then in the end I'll buy one of the Oakland County papers if I see inserts. Its really weird how it works here...Literally the freep that gets delivered and the freep that you buy at the store have different inserts... often time the delivered one has fewer coupons in them... I dont know but I've heard of delivery people getting in heaps of trouble for stealing the coupons... I dont know how true this is but I'm also in the middle of the worth economic situation the country has ever seen (including to some degree the depression with jobless rates). So nothing surprises me here.

Carole, I'm sorry -- I really don't know where to look locally. My husband has been doing all the shopping since I'm still on crutches. You might try emailing Smithfield to ask if they have a list of stores that carry it in Central Ohio. Casey, I recommend buying the largest newspaper you can find in your area. Often smaller regional papers don't get all of the inserts for various reasons. And if I'm buying a paper in a store or out of a machine, I have no problem checking it before purchasing to make sure all the inserts are in there. There are too many unscrupulous people that swipe them.

I need help! I am new to this, I bought a Sunday paper last week and it only had one set of coupons....should I buy different kinds of papers or what?

I don't know where else to put this - do you know where we can use those $3 Smithfield bacon coupons in the Columbus area? I can't find it at Giant Eagle or Kroger in Mville, H illiard, or Dublin.

I would like to enter the giveaway for the 2010 Entertainment Book. With the money I save using coupons, my husband and I love going out to dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant once a month. That is our treat for being good and cooking at home the rest of the time!
