I complained so much about my whole experience with couponing at any of the walmarts. Quickly a District Mgr contacted me about it. I told him that I will not be shopping at Walmart anymore since their cashiers are uneducated with coupons policies and customer service. I got held up on a transaction for an AD match...I tried to explain to the cashier that there was no purchase limit on the item just for the deal the other store had that involved a gift card....she proceeded to call a CSM then had them read the other stores AD and look over coupon, The cashier looks at the CSM and says but after the coupons she's only going to pay 1.50 for these....that sent me over the edge. I just grabbed my coupons back and left the store. They can keep there $20 gift card I was offered...I'd probably get questioned for using it with coupons anyway.

I coupon per item, otherwise we could go around redeeming as many coupons as possible on ONE item thus racking up free stuff. Make sense?

just thought you know walmart is picking and choosing who is allowed to use coupons no i am an extreme coupon shopper and have read ther policy and no they want let me coupon in one local store i have to travel 25 miles to another to shop because that one has said i cant use coupons at there so i use extra gas to go elsewhere than shop there any more.

okay i just want to make sure im understanding this correct, if i want to by one bottle of ranch dressing and i have 4 coupons for that one bottle, i an use them all on that one bottle. The coupons are the exat same, i clipped them from four sunday papers. Thanks! Im new to this!

My Walmart in Illinois takes the Target coupons by taking that amount off via a price match. Then I can also use a manufacturer coupon for same item. It was a teller who told me it was the way to do it and so far it has worked. All I have to say to the teller I is that others have taken off as a price match and they are whipping out their calculators and changing the price for me. Hope this will work for you! As others have said, chat with the teller as you are loading your items. Being friendly and cheerful usually gets any transaction problems easily corrected here in the Midwest.

YES!!! I had a big issue with this and tried to educate the managers who were telling me that per purchase means per transaction. I gave them several examples to contradict that, but they were so close-minded about it so I sent an email to walmart online to get it cleared up. They sent my email to that store in which the ASM just called me awhile ago to say the same thing the others did. He told me I was trying to split hairs and that I was reading the coupon wrong!! I couldn't believe it. I informed him the I had no trouble at the other Wal-Mart in town and that the manager over there said I was correct. I asked him "So if I have a large order and have 10 like items with 10 valid coupons, you want me to hold up the line to have 10 different transactions and pay that many times even though your system will accept them all at once like every other store I know?" He said yes, only one coupon per like item. Ugh... I don't have time to do that, nor am I inconsiderate enough to the customers waiting in line behind me to do that to them. I will not be shopping there anymore, they are making this way too difficult. My problem is, why isn't the coupon policy the same across all the stores? The managers seem to be making up their own procedures to what they deem is right and correct. I wrote corporate to get a response from them, NOT the store I had the issue with. :(

I shop Walmart all the time when I am price-matching and have NEVER encountered this problem. I have used different Walmart's in different areas and NEVER an issue. I have never had to provide my coupons upfront. I have a binder and list and section out my purchases for them. Before I pay I give them all my coupons. I have even had a cashier send me to the Customer Service desk once when I forgot to give them a few coupons and got the price of the coupons back in cash. That was AWESOME!!! I think that you got a "Betty by the Book" cashier who was not having a good day! Next time try someone else. Talk to them as you are placing your items on the belt. it is a distraction, but it works. Good Luck!

some people are just lacking of knowledge regarding coupon policies. It takes time, but ask for a manager and show them that it says limit 4 like coupons, because they read limit one per purchase and they think that's all it says. I've had this problem couple of times... there are coupons that say limit 1 coupon per visit too though, so double check your coupons as well.

Can i use more then one of the same coupon.like if i buy 5 progresso soups can i use 5 of the same coupons.1 for each soucp?

You can only use coupons from other competitors if it states a dollar amount and it has to be the exact brand name. If it's a percentage it will not be accepted.

My walmart (in so cal; pomona) is fine with me handing the coupons after all the items have been scanned, and were pretty cool about matching my items. I think that the cashiers that do that, are lazy to handle coupons at the end, because some might not scanned or are just plain lazy to scan them, and hold up the line so they use the "opps to late I can't take them now" line. Also many new cashiers are ignorant of how to read a coupon, because they see the one per purchase they think its one per trans action, they might interpret 4 of a like coupons to you can only use 4 of the same coupons, in 4 different transactions. I am always nice to the cashier, but i will in a nice way point out where they are wrong, I also will suggest to get the manager in some cases.

My Wal-mart is now trying to say they will only accept 1 like coupon. Even if the coupon says limit 4 like coupons. Anyone else having this problem? It is a total contradictory to their policy.

If the cashier in facts says that then you should just tell her to take it off and then have her rescan it. Just because it has been scanned does not mean you have to pay for it. Until you receive a receipt is the transaction complete.

Yes my Walmart has done that. However I now do not even give them my coupons until I have all items placed on the belt and they have checked me out then I pull out my coupons and hand them to the cashier.

Does anyone else's Walmart make you give them your coupons first then as they check your item you have to tell them you have a coupon and they go through your coupons until they find it scan it(the coupon) right after they scan the item. It holds up the people in back of you, it holds up you the customer but they say that's how they do it. The checker scaned a couple things I forgot I had a coupon for and said it was to late to scan it so I didn't get to use it. The stoe's in Rancho Cucamonga & Upland Calif. do it like this. I would like to know why but no one has a answer. I told the checker I've never heard of that and it's always at the end of the order that they scan the coupon and the register would let you know and she said no! Any answers out there??

I ran into this problem at Walmart today The store manager told me that i can comp a BOGO item from another store, or use a coupon for it,but i can't do both!! It isnt in their coupon or comp policy that i read onlne, so is this correct? i didn't want to make a scene with my husband with me.

Oh.. Not to mention when I was there on 06/31/11, I gave coupons that expired that same day. Obviously, when a coupon is good "THROUGH" a date, it ends at 11:59 or 12:00.. NOT at 10:00 am!? It was $13 in coupons - Told them to keep the order and went to Target!! =]
