IVC coupons are considered Walgreens store coupons and therefore can be stacked with manufacturer’s coupons for even bigger savings!

Just wanted you to know that I just called my Walgreens and on the recorded message it said they are now offering $25 gift card for a transfered prescription.

I used to think that these were Walgreen’s coupons too, but if you read the fine print at the bottom of each coupon it states, “Manufacturer coupon good at Walgreen’s only”. You may still be able to get the cashier to stack your coupons. But, I think this is violating the coupon policy and making things worse for other couponers. :(
Tara Kuczykowski
Nesha, they do say manufacturer, but they are not coded as such, so it’s not violating the coupon policy. Also, according to the Walgreens coupon policy that we have from customer service, combining them is acceptable.

The Walgreens by my work will not stack on them. They are coded in their system as MFG and will not stack – register actually beeps. I don’t know if every Walgreens does their own coding or what. I’m having a lot of different issue with Walgreens in Nashville/Franklin TN. Another Walgreens will not allow more than 1 transaction. Another Walgreens this past weekend said they will not take more than 2 RR in a transaction. They all seem to have their own rules and it makes it very frustrating!
Marisol
Lori,
I have the same issues here in FL too!
They will NOT combine the IVC’s with MQ … it’s so sad to see all the deals that others get and not be able to also participate … but at least I still have TARGET! :D
Sarah
I was always confused by why they say manufacturer coupon…They get treated like Walgreens coupons…i.e., they DO NOT collect them and put them in their register for credit, just like other Walgreens coupons, and one coupon works on multiple items (just like Walgreens coupons and unlike manufacturer coupons).
Maxine
I agree! Although the Register Rewards ARE considered Man. Coupons and you are only allowed to have one Man. coupon for each item, i.e. if you purchase one item and have a Man. coupon and plan to use RR you will have to purchase a “filler item”. If you are using the Walgreens coupon, they do not ring up as Man. coupons.
Carol
I have been told REPEATEDLY that I CANNOT use the coupon in the booklet + a manuf. coupon b/c it would be using 2 “manuf. coupons.”
I purchased BOGO mac and cheese coupons which were of more value than the W coupon and I couldn’t use both to get the GOOD deal using both.
Is there a policy I can print that states otherwise PLEASE?
WHY do they put manuf. on them if corporate says they are not, so you get hassled by store mgmt for trying to use the W booklet manuf. with a true manuf. coupon.
Misty

I had the same experience as Carol. Tried using a manu and IVC coupon, and the clerk at the register told me I couldn’t. I don’t think they would believe me if I said the reader of a blog spoke to Walgreens customer service and found out you can combine manu and IVC coupons and then a blog owner created a FAQ from it. This is nothing against your blog btw! I love it and the deals you post every day! I just think this is YMMV, maybe they are supposed to be stacked but until Walgreens has an official coupon policy this is always going to be a problem.
Tara Kuczykowski
I’d encourage everyone to email customer service and ask for the policy. Then you’ll have something with your name on it to present to the store manager. It’s definitely frustrating that all of the stores seem to be setting their own policies.
LJ
I did that and showed them once when I had a problem, and they still didn’t take my coupons. Then, I called corporate and was treated even worse, so I gave up and swore off WAGS.
Stacy
There is no official printable policy per se. However, here are a couple of links that may answer many of your questions.

If your particular store is not allowing you to use both a manufacturer’s coupon and a Walgreens IVC coupon in the same transaction, you may try speaking with the manager about it, and if that doesn’t help, you may want to consider contacting the corporate office about it.
One thing you may want to consider, is that if the use of both coupons causes an overage, the register will beep. Walgreens can override this, but not all stores will do it. I personally, have never had any trouble at my particular Walgreens using both coupons in a single transaction, so I’m not sure why your store is telling you otherwise. I have heard many complaints of tempermental cashiers, so perhaps you may want to try at a different time when there is a different cashier on duty. Hopefully this helps!

I was told by 2 out of 3 of the walgreens here that if you use a coupon now you will not get rr. I called corporate and was told that was up to each manager at each store. I was also told that she thought that the whole company would soon be making that the policy. I was told that someone would call me back, but its been 4 days and no call back. If they do make this their policy, I will go back to not shopping there again!!! With out these sales they are way over priced.
Liz (Walgreens employee)
If you use a register reward from say, P&G and you are trying to use it on another from P&G product it wont spit out…however if you use one from P&G towards one from another company it should not affect it and you should receive your RR. This is not up to the manager, this is just how it is set up in our system.
Valerie B.
I live in a large city and unfortunately what you all say is true ,everyone of the many Walgreen’s stores I can go to has their own policy, some even have different policies at different times of the day too as it depends on which manager I get. I am lucky to be able to check all of them if there is an item I want on sale but some of your coupon deals I can’t do at all of them and all of them say its to their discrection not what Walgreens wants no matter if I complain to corporate or not.
