Has anyone tried to combine the "free after Register Rewards" deals with the "Spend $25 and receive $5" deal? With all the high dollar RR items in this ad, it's possible to get to $25 if you purchase all 6 at one visit ($26.96 total.) If we can do this and then get the $5 RR on top of it, it would be free money.

Hey Tara, just wanted to let you know the link for the Just for Men rebate isn't working. Thanks!

The coupon match-ups don't...um, match up. The All You Neutrogena coupon is on cosmetic items ONLY. Also, the printable for B & L is for Sensitive Eyes or something about Lens Comfort not Multi-Purpose Plus. They're still great deals with the RR, but these coupons won't work.

These deal are not available at my Walgreens. I went last night and didn't see any of these offerings. Are these State/Location specific?

December All You had a $3.00 "cosmetics only" and a $2.00 "any Neutrogena product."

busymom-it is a 3 day sale that just started today, which is why you didn't see them last night :)

I was wondering if anyone had a hard time using their rrs? Are there going to be many good sales coming up that I can use the rrs that I earned today?
The cashiers at my wags do not let me do multiple transactions, as some of you show how you do 3 transactions.. So I am a little worried I will be stuck with 7 rewards totaling $28.

Reply

8 AC December 9, 2009 at 11:34 am

Jeff, how can they keep you from doing multiple transactions? Maybe not all in a row but I would do one transaction and get back in line.

Also, for Melissa, in my experience the cashiers don't pay specific attention to what the coupon is for. As long as it's the right product brand they don't make a fuss. They might look at it closer if the Q beeps at them. One time I was doing 2 transactions, one with LOreal makeup and the other with Neutrogena- I accidentally switched the Qs around and they still worked. So just try it and see. If it doesn't work just claim ignorance and then at least you'll know.

Thanks for the clarification, Jennifer. I missed that one- had to go back and clip it. Thank goodness I didn't recycle it yet!

The manager at my Wags told me if you use a coupon on something that generates a rr the rr will not print! So I tried it with the Lubridurm last week and it didn't print!!! I am so mad I will more than likely never go back to wags!!! CVS is way better!!! I think that wags rr program had problems beofre it even started. They also told me that you can only purchase 1 of something if it makes a rr. Even getting back in line to do a 2nd transaction to earn a 2nd rr is fraud!!!

Just went to WAGS and my total before Q's was $28 and after Q's was only $3 and I got the extra $5 Reward for spending $25 or more.

13 Ashley December 9, 2009 at 1:37 pm

Jennifer, I'm not sure what Lubridurm deal you were doing last week but last month they had buy three get $8. Was that the one? Anyway....some cashiers really do not know how the register rewards program works. Same goes with the managers at certain stores...they actually tell the cashiers that if someone is purchasing multiple items that produce register rewards (not the SAME item multiple times, but different items all producing register rewards) that they need to be purchased individually in order to get all of the rewards. I have been told this many, many times and each time I tell them I don't have much time and to just do one transaction and I always get my register rewards. They comment that "oh, the register must like you today."

As far as doing multiple transactions, that is not fraud. The whole reason the manufacturers put out these free after register reward items is so they can get people to buy these and hope they forget to use the rewards. What these Walgreens employees do not realize is that you are helping the store get more money when you use a coupon. If you are using a coupon on something that is free after the reward, Walgreens not only gets reimbursed for the coupon you used, but for the register reward. So if you only went in to buy the free after register reward item, they'd only get reimbursed for the register reward. Walgreens is in no way losing money when people use coupons. A lot of employees act like you're taking money out of their pocket or that you're doing something illegal but there is nothing wrong with it as long as you use the coupons for the products indicated. Hope that helps a little! Don't give up on Walgreens because they truly are better than CVS (never thought I would say that because I had tons of issues with Walgreens when I first started couponing and actually stopped going for a few months). They have more free items each month than CVS plus you can go each day if you wanted to get each item again, whereas CVS has the extra care card that limits you to one or two items. Good luck!!

Jeff - The RR is technically a manufacturer coupon so you should be able to use it at any store. You'll only run into trouble if a store protests since it does reflect WAGS on it. I never spend my RR's at WAGS but rather on groceries at Jewel. Have never ever had trouble using them there.

AC - Be sure to use the fine print. A recent Goldfish coupon stated $0.75 off the garden flavor. But if you read the fine print it just says off any Goldfish crackers. Some times the coupons are very misleading which "forces" you to buy something you didn't want when instead the coupon is valid for the item that you do want.

Jennifer - Don't pass up the good deals at WAGS. Just spend your RRs at another store that accepts competitor coupons. Most grocery stores do.

Ashley...Yes it was last month!! Wow time just flew by! I used to love Wags but now it's just problem after problem with them. The managers at the store I'm talking about have no idea whats going on.. They can give you ten reasons why the rr didn't print!! Corp needs to do something before they confuse theirselves!

Lex...OMG...I didn't know you could use them at other stores!!! I might try Krogers. Thank you!

About the situation with a cashier only allowing one purchase at a time, and you have to go back in line if you want to buy again for a second time:
I don't mind this really.
The idea is for a family/single person to buy this item at a bargain price, in hopes that in the future, that customer will buy it again at its regular price. They are giving you a chance to try out their product for the first time at a very cheap price. The maker of the product is not making any significant profit from you buying this at a cheap price. You are not doing the maker of the product any "favor" here by buying it cheap.
...and...on forums, I have seen customers BRAG about how they bought 44 of this item; or they 'bought out' the whole shelf of this item, etc. - those people who hog up the sale items, prevent the average customer from getting at least one item. I am glad if something prevents the hogs from buying out an excessive amount of the sale item. They are not buying for one family.

Are you serious about RR working at other stores??? It is my understanding that they were Walgreens coupons and could only be used at Walgreens. If these RR truly can be used at other stores as a coupon, then I will be one happy shopper! Tara, what insight can you shed on this subject?

No 3 day sales here in Michigan, the girl at my store acted like I was crazy and asked why they would do something like that. Oh well with the Triaminic Deal this week I was able to 'make' $15 so I bought the 3 toys for 12.98. My kids got the paintable statues of Handy Manny, Tinker Bell, and Pooh.

Reply

25 Elena December 9, 2009 at 7:28 pm

I went to Wags today and did the Triaminic deal, followed by the neutrogena and hairbrush deal followed by the theraflu deal with ragu, royal gellatin, pert plus, a yes to carrots lip balm bc the neutrogena rr would go through ... anyway The cashier told me they could get in trouble for doing multiple trans since it's like cheating the system... I simply smiled and brushed her off walking away with rrs and <$5 oop.

The areas that started these sales today use the 4 Day Sale Ad. However, in a number of areas (I specifically remember hearing parts of Michigan, but I know there are more) they will be only doing a 3 Day Sale Ad which runs Thurs-Sat instead of Wed-Sat. Hopefully those of you who didn't get it today will get it tomorrow.

As a previous poster mentioned, the holiday RR does not roll yet so just be aware that if you use it on a transaction with more than $25 in pre-coupon total, you won't be getting another one back.

I did want to clarify that the $5 Holiday RR wyb $25 is before all manufacturer coupons AND wags coupons!! This is fantastic!!!

Has anyone tried the Renu coupon(s)? They don't appear to match up. You have to choose which product to print for, and neither of them are the multi-purpose solution.

melissa- the RENU eyecare on sale at Wags, even though the box says mutli purpose it is also lens comfort. the top of the box will say muti purpose but down in the middle will say lens comfort, so the Qpon will work just perfect. BTW - the ALL YOU dec. issue has a neutrogena cosmetic coupon AND a $2 off any Neutrogena product also, I believe it's on page 35.
Last week I stocked up on the ACAI berry supplements that were $4 with a $4RR, I printed out 4 coupons for $3 off so I ended up paying $1 plus tax on each bottle and getting a $4rr for each in the process. What I later realized when I left the store was that each box of ACAI had a $3 off coupon inside of them which allowed me to keep buying more till I bought a total of 18 bottles for a total of $24.30 with taxes, however I took home $72 worth of RRs, so I have been shopping since then for toys, orange juice, a Brita pitcher, and today's RR deals. I bought today all the stuff listed above with the exception of the For Men hair dye, and the Stim-U-Dent (wags was out) and with a couple $.39 cents filler items I was able to use RRs for just about everything my total out of pocket today was $1.98 and took home $19 RRs.

I did the Just for Men rebate last year or months ago for another similar deal at wags or cvs, do you think I can get the rebate check again?

Norma, maybe that's why my Wags was all out of the ACAI supplements so I couldn't get in on that deal...

This $5/$25 a sweet deal because it is before they use any of your coupons. I bought about $35.00 worth of stuff last night used coupons and RR's to get my total down to $1.92 oop and then it printed out $13.00 in RR plus the $5.00 RR so I left the store with 3 bags of stuff and $18.00 in rewards. My 15 year old just stood there wide eyed, shaking his head!

For anyone in the Grand Rapids, MI area - the 4 day sale IS going on! And for everyone else commenting on using the RR at other stores I made two trips to two Wags stores and went to Meijer and WAS able to use $36 worth of RR at the self check-out WITHOUT any beeps!!!! I am SOOOOOOOO excited about this revelation! My sister has been using her RR as Jewel-Osco or whatever it is called (we dont' have them around here) but until I read through these comments I hadn't thought of using them at Meijer! :-) YAY!!!

Also, my Renu coupons worked without any beeps or issues :-)

Sorry to leave a third comment - but just a reminder NOT to try and use the $5 Walgreens RR at Meijer as that is a Walgreens Store coupon only. OK, I think that is everything :-)

I bought the StimUDent thing for $2 and got $2 RR. Then I used the $2 RR on the Scunci deal which was also $2. So I paid $.16 for the tax. But I didn't get a $2 RR on the Scunci. My mom tried it too and it happened to her as well. We were expecting to be able to keep rolling the $2 RR over and over. But no go.

There is no 3 day deals in my Walgreens (NE Phila, PA) either – that stinks!!! And it's so true, the employees think that I am stealing from them when I try to use RR in multi transactions and Mfr Coupons. Personally, I don't like going there, but some deals are too good to pass.

First, not all deals, whether WAGS or Rite Aid are available in all areas. I consistently encounter this problem where I live in Colorado, where the deals Tara lists on her blog are just not available and not honored in this area. Second, I subscribe to ALL YOU and nowhere in my magazine do I find any Neutrogena coupons, for anything. What page is that supposed to be on? Are you sure its the 12/09 issue, not the 11/09 issue?

Reply

42 Tara Kuczykowski December 11, 2009 at 9:36 pm

The Neutrogena coupons are in the December 18, 2009 issue which would have been mailed to subscribers mid November. I go by the issue date, not when they're received.

43 anne December 11, 2009 at 9:51 pm

Terri,
I agree, how can Wags (a national chain) have extra 4 day sales in only some regions?? So unfair. I shop Wags all the time, (no Riteaid close to my house and no CVS in Colorado) and get frustrated missing out on all these great deals I see on this site etc. Especially when I have RR's to use and no new deals to use them on. I'm stocked up on Theraflu and Triaminic - haha.

No 3 or 4-day sale going on at the Wags in my area of Michigan. Such a bummer!!! :(

I tried to use a $2 RR at Dillons (Kroger) and it beeped on me. I am not really sure how everyone else is able to use the RRs from Wags at other chains... even though it says manufacture's coupon..
