Do you use Upromise eCoupons?
Shaina
I first signed up for Upromise in 2000 when my first child was born. I love that they now have coupons.
Jennifer Laxson
Don’t you have to use a credit card for this?
Jeff @ Upromise
Hey Shaina, glad to hear you’re loving the eCoupons. Enjoy!
Jamie
I’ve been a Upromise member for years too. I just wish more products participated and that my store (HyVee) would make their store brands a part of the deal!

Hi Tara,
I always enjoy reading your posts. With UPromise, though, I hope you’ll take a look at the evidence that they run a parasitic program which can ultimately negatively affect you, other affiliates, and the merchants you display on your website. I think this recent blog post summarizes the situation rather well: https://econsultancy.com/blog/4525-toolbars-pop-ups-and-parasites-in-affiliate-marketing#blog_comment_12696
I hope you’ll reconsider your endorsement of UPromise or learn more about parasitic affiliates and avoid endorsing them in the future. I’m sure many other affiliates, affiliate networks and merchants would appreciate your consideration. Consumers should benefit as well because merchants’ advertising costs will be lower which in theory should keep consumer prices down.
Best,
Jim

I am new to this program snd wondering how the fund will be collected in the future. How if my baby girl doesn’t go to college after all?
amanda
Julia, to answer your question, you can request a check for the amount you have saved at any time! If you roll it over to a 529 plan though….then it can’t be just paid out in a check.
I started the Upromise Fund about 7 years ago before we even had kids. Way back then, it was hard to get any kind of collection in there as I lived in Wisconsin and no stores or anyplace participated and the only way I could get any contributions was to shop online.
Finally, moving to OH, there were lots more places. I wanted to surprise my husband this past spring with a nice birthday gift without him seeing a dip in our budget and wondering where the money went. So, I decided to request a distribution from my hard earned Upromise account. It took me 7 years to collect $181 dollars in there! But it was simple to get the distribution. I just filled out a form and mailed it in. They only cut a check at designated times every 3 months..but the process was simple enough.
I’m glad that they have now added the Ecoupons. It’s a significantly greater savings than the few cents that have been contributed for specific items in the past!
Jeff @ Upromise
Hi Julia. Amanda is absolutely right…you can choose to receive your Upromise earnings in the form of a check. Speaking of which, here’s a page with information on that and other ways to use your earnings:

Welcome aboard and please let me know if you have any other questions or would like advice on best ways to use the program.
Thanks,

Ive never used upromise ecoupons before, is the amount of the ecoupon deducted off my total or is it that the amount of the ecoupon is deposited in my upromise account, thanks to any1 for answering
Jeff @ Upromise
Erika, it’s the latter…the amount of the eCoupon is deposited into your Upromise account.
erica
I’m wondering how long it takes to get deposited into your account. I used some last month and haven’t been credited yet. Also, can you use regular coupons too?
Tara Kuczykowski
Some of the deposits do take a long time. I’m not sure that there’s a standard timeframe since the deposits are coming from so many difference sources.
Yes, I have it straight from a Upromise rep that you can use manufacturer’s coupon in conjunction with the ecoupons because they are a separate deposit into a college savings account and not a true ecoupon.
Jeff @ Upromise
Hi Erica. Tara is right about the regular coupons…they can be redeemed along with Upromise eCoupons. As for how long the savings will take to post in your account, it’s typically 30 to 60 business days following the purchase. By the way, here’s a link over to a page that outlines the time frame for all types of purchases made with Upromise partners:

Wonderful blog you have here but I was curious about if you
knew of any message boards that cover the same topics
talked about in this article? I’d really love
to be a part of group where I can get responses from other knowledgeable individuals that share the
same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know.
Thanks a lot!
