I lucked out in Decatur AL and found 2 of the clearance Tags-they were right with the new ones but I noticed the picture was different so I scanned them and saw that they were the clearance! yay!
Anna-Marie I would love the books if they are still available. I found one pink tag system just can't find the books at KMart.
Does anyone have the sku# that did buy it- it's on the receipt. I went to my local Target and they did not have any clearance ones and I don't feel like driving everywhere to find one, but it would make such a great gift.

I found kung fu panda, I spy, and olivia books at walmart on clearance for $5, use with the $4 coupon and they're only $1 each. Doesn't beat the $.80, but I couldn't find them at k-mart. Also, my target did not have any for clearance....waiting for another deal hopefully soon!
I can not tell you how happy I am. I found one of these today (the only one)...my 4 year old grand-daughter is going to love this for her b-day!!! I will be looking for some book's now...Thank's ever so much for sharing. :)
I've had no luck finding them here in the St. Louis area. Went to several Target stores and searched both the regular aisle and the clearance aisles and endcaps. Didn't bother going to any Kmart stores to look for the books since we only have a few in the area I just figured I wouldn't have any luck and would be wasting my time. Glad to hear that others have been able to find them!

I went back and bought 4 more ! This is what I have
1 Kung Fu Panda (4-6 yrs)

Paid .80 + tax (7.75 - NC tax was just raised a penny)
They still had The Foster's Imaginary Friends if anybody wants them - they'll be .80 also.

Also, I did get a $5 catalina this time - they said it's random !? Not sure I will be using it since it has to be used on a single item of $5 or more.
Don't bother if you are in St. Louis...I had them do a location check and the Jennings Store showed 8...they searched for me over the phone and could not find the right one with the Ozzie and Mack book. My guess is that they are in the back room hiding somewhere. Oh well, would have been a great deal!
NOTHING at the 3 Targets in Lehigh Valley, PA....BUT 3 different K-Marts brought me some unbelievable savings. 4 Read Along/Sing along book/DVD set on clearance for 11.20 each (all clearance toys additional 20% off), 4 Leap Frog game (like a Simon toy for little ones) marked down to $9.60 each...I was able to use the $10 coupons on each of these (even the $9.60 item). 2 Tag books marked at $5.60 each (and used the $5 off coupon on those, a Baby Leap Frog spinning alphabet toy marked to $15.60 (used both the $10 mfr. and $5 catalina)...needless to say, I got some serious Christmas/birthday shopping done this afternoon (I've got 10 nieces and nephews, 6 of them under the age of 4). I may try Walmart just to see what they have. I spent more on tax than on the toys...I think my grand total for all 3 stores was about $12 for all the Leap Frog products!
Most of the books I offered earlier are spoken for. May have 1 I SPY left and going in the morning for the Foster's Imaginary Friends.

got one of the readers at target for 14.98. then went to kmart and got two clearance books kung fu panda and an I spy for 4.80 and received a cat for 5.00 off. so went back and took my 4.00 off man. coupon and bought the ariel book for 6.79 and got another cat for 5.00 off and used that one and another 4.00 coupon to get the tinkerbell book for 6.89. we are going on a road trip to san diego in two weeks hoping this will help keep my 4 year old happy for some of the trip.

Yeah, I see several posts about St Louis. Just to save some of you the time I went to the Belleville, Shiloh, and Swansea/Fairview Heights IL Targets. They all told me that they sold out of the old ones before they clearanced, which seems a bit odd. I still walked the aisles and physically scanned every Tag system I found..no clearance. The Kmarts have the Tag books for around $15, none marked on clearance. I asked a worker and she looked at me like I was nuts. I then asked because they had one of the old tag systems with the new, if it would be clearanced and the employee said not for a long time :( -Hopefully I can save others some time!
I'm not concerned that these only hold 5 books. I ended up getting two, one pink and one green and I'll load both with books at this price. Actually I found some neat flash cards at Walmart that can be used with the TAG reader. The cards were in the clearance section but were still $8, I'm waiting for them to go down. So I'll probably use one pen for books and one for the cards.
I forgot, try Best Buy for the books. Mine had them for $10, less the $4 coupon makes it $6, which isn't bad. They were with the video games.

What $10 coupons are being refered to below? The only $10 leap frog coupon I have says for the tag system. I am going to check out kmart today and want to make sure I am armed with the right coupons. :) By the way I have not had any luck in the Dayton Oh area. I found the TAG system here in Jax, FL last week. I have been to several others and NOTHING. I was hoping for one more so my two boys wouldn't have to fight, i mean share it :) I am off to Kmart to try and find a book or two. I just spent $12 at toy r us for an extra book :(

if you do a search on slickdeals.net, they have a post about this with the numbers of the product and how to search in your area. However, it seems that many Targets report it as in stock when they have none on the shelves...
I just left my Target and the only 3 they had had the correct sku# for the deal covered with a new sku#. Bummer!!! Has anyone found these clearanced at Walmart????

I went to my Target here in Michigan and found one, but when I scanned it, it was regular price.
Kacy, if you still have your receipt take it in with the coupon they will usually give you the coupon amount back as long as its within a week or so.
I went to Kmart today but they didn't have any books, they did have the Tag for $25, and that was the price on the shelf, like it was the regular price. I went to Walmart and found Olivia, Kung Fu Panda, Penguins of Madagascar, a dinosaur book, and a pirate book for $5 and an I spy book for $7. I bought 3 books, b/c that is all the coupons I had. We have 5 Walmarts in my area,s o I may go to another one this week to see if they have any. They had more Leap Frog things on clearance too.
i called both the Fort Walton Beach Target and the Destin Target... Neither of them were on sale... I even had them scan them for me... Grrr. I really wanted this deal! Oh well- I will catch the next one! :)

Here is the UPC 7 08431 21104 9. My Target in CA covered the orginal UPC with a new sticker. I complained and they gave it to me for the $12.48 price. So after coupon and with tax it was $3.70.

Do you still have the extra tag reader? My Walmart, Target and K-Mart are all sold out of the books, and all the readers at Target ring up $49.99 (I carried them all to the counter and had them scanned! LoL). So, I don't have any books to trade, but I would love to buy it for what you paid as well as cover the shipping.

I found the last one at my Target last saturday. The box was opened but it still had all the stuff in it. I did not find any books though. All of them are listed as $13.97 and I did not want to spend that much. However there was an offer going if u bought a leapfrog DVD for 9.99 along with a tag book u got 5$ off.So I did that and also added in the $4 off for the tag book and ended up spending $17~ together.. Not a great deal but atleast something for the time I spent in looking for it:-( BTW all the tag systems with the ozzie & mac books have a 39.99$ price tag on them now and I swear they look exactly the same as the clearanced one! What am I missing here?
I couldn't find any books at Kmart in SLC, UT area but I decided to try Sears since they are owned by the same company. They had TAG books clearanced for $6 minus $4 coupon, so I got them for $2. They had Spongebob, Fosters and I Spy.

If anyone has some books to part with I would greatly appreciate them. I got my daughter the Tag reader for her birthday but the only book I was able to find that wasn't full price was SpongeBob. There is a lady that is supposed to be sending me Kung Fu Panda and I Spy, but I don't know if they will come or not for sure --I sent her items so hopefully they will come.
I am going to give my kider the book for her birthday in October and would love to have some books to go with it.

Target has all Tag Books on sale this week for 9.99, use the $4 coupon and you can get a new tag book for as low as 5.99.
Books are also on sale buy two, get one free at Toys R Us. They are priced at $14; after three $4 coupons, they're only $5.33 before tax. Toys R Us has a very nice selection, too. Kmart has only a handful of nonclearance titles, and they were all gimmicky cartoon- or movie-based books. WalMart has a better selection, but for some reason, they are sold out of the good titles at the three WalMarts I've been to over the past few weeks. Target has a pretty good selection, too, though they didn't carry all the titles I ended up getting at Toys R Us. I bet we're in store for some good Christmas sales on these, too!
The Pens are also Buy 2 Get one Free. They are on sale from $49.99 to $29.99. Pair that with 2 $10 off coupons and you can get 3 pens for $40.00. It isn't $2.48, but $13 isn't bad!
I have an extra Tag that I bought back when it was still priced at $12.48. I thought about returning it, but thought I would first check here and see if anyone is still looking for one.
