National Fresh Breath Day Giveaway #SonicareChallenge

by Tara Kuczykowski on August 6, 2010 · 183 comments

Today is National Fresh Breath Day, a day to discuss the importance of oral hygiene, and the importance of having minty fresh breath. Coincidentally, it also happens to be my 6-year-old daughter's birthday -- just look at those beautiful, pearly whites thanks to her new Sonicare for Kids toothbrush! (Happy Birthday, Baby!!!)

Seriously, this was a child that I battled with regularly over brushing her teeth, and she's now thrilled to brush her teeth every morning, noon, and night. These brushes are on the pricey side, but the savings we're sure to see on dental bills makes them a much more reasonable proposition. Three cheers for clean teeth without any arguments!

In celebration of National Fresh Breath Day, Sonicare would like to give one lucky Deal Seeking Mom two Sonicare brush head refills for the Sonicare toothbrush of your choice!

To enter, just tell me what teeth brushing is like in your household. Are you a three-times-a-day brusher? Is it a struggle to get your kids to brush their teeth regularly?

This giveaway ends at 11:59 a.m. ET on Monday, August 9th and is open to all U.S. residents 18 years or older. I’ll use Comment Contest to select the winning comment. Winner will be notified by email and listed on my Giveaway Winners page. Winners must respond within 24 hours of notification to claim their prize. Good luck!

Week 2 Of #SonicareChallenge + Walgreens Deals

by Tara Kuczykowski on August 4, 2010 · 14 comments

Last week our Sonicare toothbrushes traveled with us to Outer Banks, North Carolina. No major injuries this year, but we did get off to a rocky start after my youngest son got sick at breakfast right after we left, requiring us to backtrack home for a bath and change of clothes. Then we ended up spending our first night sleeping in our Yukon in a Walmart parking lot because there weren't any hotel rooms in Kitty Hawk.

We finally made it to our beach house the next day exhausted but ready for fun, only to have Mandi and her family lose their rear bumper on the 4x4 beach -- that was quite a sight! But we ended up having a fabulous time swimming, climbing the Currituck Beach Lighthouse (WHAT were we thinking with nine kids between us?!?), and visiting the Wright Brothers National Memorial.

Our Sonicare brushes performed brilliantly throughout the trip. I left the chargers at home because I wanted to test the longevity of a single charge, so I was a little nervous that they'd be nearly dead by the time we got home. However, I was delighted to see that they were still going strong as our trip neared its end!

What a treat it was be able to look out the window while brushing our teeth and see this every morning:

For those of you that have been considering purchasing a Sonicare toothbrush, I wanted to point out a couple of great deals at Walgreens this week:

Our Family Is Taking the 30-Day #SonicareChallenge

by Tara Kuczykowski on July 21, 2010 · 11 comments

Well, I certainly can't say that I ever expected to post a picture on here of me brushing my teeth...but yes, that's me -- brushing me teeth.

Our family was recently selected to participate in the Sonicare 30 Days to Better Teeth Challenge, so we'll be test driving the new Sonicare 2 Handle 5350 Sonic Power Toothbrush and the Sonicare for Kids HX6311/02 Rechargeable Toothbrush courtesy of Sonicare and Collective Bias.

So what are some benefits that we can expect to see over the next 30 days?

  • Sonicare’s technology provides superior plaque removal, because it cleans in a way that a manual toothbrush can’t.
  • Philips Sonicare reduces gum disease, but at the same time, it’s gentle on your teeth and gums.
  • Sonicare removes everyday coffee, tea and tobacco stains. So your teeth will be naturally whiter in 28 days or your money back.

Follow along in my Whrrl story as we purchase our brushes, get them setup, and use them for the first time:

Of course I had to buy my 2-year-old his own special Diego toothbrush. The Sonicare for Kids is intended for ages 4 and up, but I didn't want him to miss out on all of the fun!
