Creamy Red Potato Salad Recipe

by Tara Kuczykowski on July 19, 2013 · 0 comments

Summer cookouts and potato salad were made for each other, don't you think? And right now my favorite is this simple and creamy red potato salad.

Boiling the potatoes, as with any potato salad recipe, is the most time consuming step, so I like to do this the evening before I'm planning to make it. The dressing can be made in under 5 minutes, making this a perfect party side!

Memorial Day Cookout Recipe Ideas

by Tara Kuczykowski on May 24, 2013 · 1 comment

We've decided to change things up a bit this year, and instead of cooking out for Memorial Day, I'll be serving these Slow Cooker Beef Barbacoa tacos. The slow cooker makes this barbacoa recipe so easy to make, and the house smells simply wonderful while it's cooking!

I plan to pair it with some cilantro lime rice, homemade fresh tomato salsa, and I'm on the hunt for a really good Chi-Chi's corn cake clone recipe. Anyone have one to share?!?

If you're into more traditional cookout fare, here are some of our family favorites:

A simple coffee marinade adds a mouth-watering, smokey flavor to to these coffee-marinated rib eye steaks that you will never be able to pinpoint as coffee!

This corn casserole recipe is so good you'll want to scrape the dish completely clean to get every last bit of caramelized goodness from the corners!

These grilled caprese tomato kabobs are a delicious, yet healthy, side that pair perfectly with grilled chicken or steak!

Don't let a little rain slow you down. These easy slow cooker ribs are every bit as good as ribs cooked on the grill all day long!

Dessert doesn't get any simpler than these patriotic trifles in jars. Make them up ahead of time and screw lids on them for a dessert to go!

Wash it all down with these easy strawberry daiquiris. I'm not kidding when I say these are the BEST EVER!

Game Day Tailgating Recipe Ideas

by Tara Kuczykowski on September 14, 2012 · 0 comments

It's college football time again, woot! Can you guess which team we're rooting for?

I just thought I'd share a few of my favorite game day recipes, like this 7-Layer Mexican Dip with Homemade Tortilla Chips. It's super easy to throw together -- no cooking required!

While the homemade tortilla chips aren't a necessity, they seriously taste SO much better than those over-salted store bought chips. Make them up they night before and taste the difference for yourself!

And just a few more of my faves:

This slow cooker chex mix recipe is still one of my most popular recipes. It's a game day must!

This corn casserole recipe is so good you'll want to scrape the dish completely clean to get every last bit of caramelized goodness from the corners!

I lightened up my favorite hot spinach artichoke dip by swapping in 1/3 fat cream cheese, artichokes canned in water, and mozzarella cheese, but it's still as delicious as ever!

These easy slow cooker ribs are every bit as good as ribs cooked on the grill all day long. But they allow you more time to focus on your guests!

Wash it all down with these easy strawberry daiquiris. I'm not kidding when I say these are the BEST EVER!

Around these parts, this is the recipe for buckeyes, also known as chocolate-covered peanut butter balls. Ohio State fan or not, these are delish!

Looking for a few new ideas for your Labor Day cookout? Give this Jamaican Jerk Grilled Shrimp a try. It's a touch spicy, but not TOO spicy, and you can use the extra spice mixture on chicken, pork and more!

And just a few more of my newest favorites:
