How to Apply Pond’s Luminous Finish BB+ Cream

by Tara Kuczykowski on September 30, 2013 · 0 comments

I shared with you recently that I've been trying out new POND'S Luminous Finish BB+ Cream, and I promised an update after I'd used it for a month or so. After using it for about 5 weeks, I have to say that I'm just as pleased with it, if not more so.

I mentioned that POND'S BB+ is formulated with Tone Perfecting Complex to visibly fade dark spots. It provides flawless coverage in seconds plus a more even skin tone in two weeks. My skin really does appear brighter and more even. This product is every bit as good as the pricier BB+ cream I used to use, and it's a quarter of the price!

If you've never used a BB cream, I'd love to share a few tips for applying it to get the best results:

  • Start with a clean face -- no need to moisturize unless you have very dry skin.
  • BB creams can be a bit sticky and is more difficult to spread than foundation, so I recommend applying in sections. I typically start with each cheek, under and above each eye, then my forehead, and finally my chin and nose. Be sure to blend each area together well.
  • If you have areas that need a little extra coverage, go back and apply a little more of the BB cream to these areas. I usually need a little extra to cover redness around my nose and under my eyes.
  • Powder isn't necessary, but if you prefer a little more matte finish, apply a loose powder after you've let the BB cream set for about two minutes.

After following these steps, you can continue to apply the rest of your makeup as usual. Added bonus -- I've found that the BB cream is actually great at giving my eyeshadow some extra staying power!

As if POND'S Luminous Finish BB+ Cream wasn't already a great value, POND'S has a fantastic $2 off printable coupon available right now. But wait there's more -- share it with a friend, and you can increase the value to $3 off! Retail price is around $10 in drugstores, so that makes it around $7 after this awesome high-value coupon.

My Pond’s Luminous Finish BB+ Cream Experience

by Tara Kuczykowski on August 22, 2013 · 0 comments

I'm guessing most of you have at least heard of BB creams by now. The BB stands for "beauty balm," and it's a sheer facial product that's designed to replace a number of products you might have in your makeup bag, namely serums, moisturizers, primers, foundations, sunblocks and possibly concealers.

I've never been a big fan of foundation, personally. I find it too heavy and feel like I'm wearing a mask when I have it on, so I was eager to try out this new product. Know what I found out? Not all BB creams are equal -- bummer. Some were chalky, and some left a sticky finish on my face. Others were just an odd color that didn't look right with my skin tone.

Finally I received a sample in my monthly Birchbox that did the trick. Unfortunately, I didn't love the price tag... At $38 per tube, it was just way more than I wanted to spend. I'll admit that I did purchase it once (and used it sparingly to make it last), but when the time came to purchase a new tube, I found myself putting it off.

It was around this time that Pond's contacted me and asked if I'd like to try their new Luminous Finish BB+ Cream.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was that the product comes in two shade, light and medium. Most of the BB creams I've tried in the past came in only one shade and definitely were not a one-size-fits-all shade. I found the medium shade to be a perfect match for my sun-kissed summer skin.

But the real test was giving the product a go on my face. I was surprised to find that I actually prefer the Pond's Luminous Finish BB+ to the previous pricey BB cream I was using! It goes on more smoothly and evenly, and the coverage is very sheer but buildable to allow for additional coverage in the areas that I need a touch more.

And the best part? It's priced around just $10 in drugstores. AND there's a $2 off Pond's Luminous Finish BB+ printable coupon available currently that will make it just $8!

Pond's also says that this new BB cream will give you a more even skin tone in two weeks. Its proprietary Tone Perfecting Complex visibly fades dark spots. While I can't speak to that just yet (I've been using it for about a week now), I'll definitely be back to share my experience with you all!

In the meantime, I'm enjoying my pared down summer makeup routine. With these three essentials, I can be ready for the day in under 5 minutes!
