We join the summer reading program at our library. We can go to the park nearby, have a picnic lunch, then relax in the air-conditioned library. Plus the kids earn coupons and prizes for reading books!

We spend as much time as possible with our daughter outside. Her favorite activities include, swimming in her pool and playing with playdough on her picnic table. It's neat to watch her play playdough outside, she can be as creative and messy as she wants to be.

We love the summer....free concerts at the park, going to the zoo, playing in the water table outside, having a "car wash" and washing our toy cars, free morning movies at Regal Cinemas, building sand castles, growing flowers, and the list goes on and on...=)

I love taking advantage of all the local pools and splash grounds our county has to offer. Most of them are MUCH less than what the bigger water parks charge and the kids still have a blast. We also bring our own food and have a healthy picnic after all the swimming.

If you can find coupons or get it pre season on a season ticket for a discount for a water park locally it can actually be a very affordable way to spend your summer - we buy our season passes for Monday to Friday admission in December and if we only visit the water park three times in the summer it will pay for the season pass!
