Today, 12/1, as part of World AIDS Day, Starbucks will donate $0.05 to the Global Fund to help fight AIDS in Africa when you buy a handcrafted drink!
If you haven’t already signed up to receive text messages each day, you can text 12DAYS to 29943 to join. You’ll receive a special offer by text each day.
Don’t worry if you don’t have access to text messages though because I’ll be sharing them here as well!

Was anyone else disappointed by this? Only $.05 of my $5.00 drink goes to charity- and no discount at all!
jenny
AGREED!

Yes, buying items to support charities is bogus. You are better off directly donating. Just go donate a dollar and skip the drink.

I love hot chocolate at night time and lattes in the morning.

Yeah my sister and I both got the texts and were VERY disappointed. They aren’t off to a very good start! We thought they would do more BOGO deals or buy one get one 50% off. Donating $.5 cents/drink is NOTHING, what is that 1% of every drink? Whoopdedo.

What a joke. I think it is a great thing to donate, but really .05 cents off of an item that is almost pure profit is kind of offensive. Thats just a tax right off for them anyway. Just donate directly.

I thought I had left a comment. Anyway I just love drinking green tea, sometimes with honey. I understand there are lots of antioxidents in this tea also.

I also agree with what most of you posted above. If you want the drink, product, etc. then get it. But when a company says they’ll donate to a charity, it’s usually something this small. 5 cents per drink means nothing to them really. If they’ll guarantee maybe a million dollars whatever the # of drinks sold is, then it’s worthwhile.
