When you sign up for the Ikea sweepstakes, it automatically charges you $7.95 for 12 issues of Good Housekeeping!! I guess I should have read the terms first! Sneaky!!! :(

Thanks for letting me know, Sarah. I didn’t catch that! I’ll add a note to the listing. When you receive a bill, you can just write “Cancel” on it and return it to stop the subscription.
Nellie
There’s a spot on there that says if you want to enter the sweepstakes without the trial subscription click here..that’s the one I chose

I think this is a great idea! Entering and winning online contests and games is just another thing I do, like couponing and requesting free samples. . In the last 3 months that I’ve been doing it, I’ve already won almost $500 worth of gift cards and goodies!
Magazine websites are always a good place to find multiple sweepstakes. Here are some others that have a lot:

Swap Savers
Great idea! Thanks for posting about HGTV–I like to enter that one every year.

You should only enter sweeps that you can AFFORD to win because you have to pay taxes out of your pocket for any big wins. So for example, the HGTV house in New Mexico, with car and cash sounds like a GREAT prize, but you’d have to pay taxes on all that loot, which could be pretty high! Just keep that in mind when choosing which sweeps to enter. Do you have the cash to cover your big wins?

Jessica has an excellent point, I was going to say that too. More than once, I believe, the winners of the HGTV Dream home had to give up or sell their house because they couldn’t afford the taxes for winning it, or the property taxes, the power bills, etc.
