I didn't realize that, Sheila, and yes, the ink is pricey, but that seems to be often the case these days. Sometimes it almost seems like a better deal just to buy a new printer! I tried the third party cartridges with my Dell and had nothing but problems with them. I didn't realize that, Sheila, and yes, the ink is pricey, but that seems to be often the case these days. Sometimes it almost seems like a better deal just to buy a new printer! At $14 per cartridge-and my printer uses 6, I can't afford the ink anymore. So to me, that's priceless. Plus it scans - helpful for W-9s and takes out the need to fax anything (does anyone still fax anything anyway?) This is a high tech printer for an affordable price. Totally a great deal! I do point out in my review that this printer is not for the casual user that just wants to prints coupons or random documents. But for someone looking for a full-featured printer with WiFi that prints high-quality photos, $199 is a steal. I paid at least that much for my Dell plus an additional $90 for a WiFi adapter, and it really would not have been worthy of a glowing review. Sometimes a deal is in the eye of the beholder. As I mentioned back when I started my Sanity Savers series, "Some are frugal, and then some are not so frugal, but sometimes Mommy’s sanity is worth more than saving a dime. However, I always do my research to get the best price!" Those little touches like the enclosed paper tray and being able to print great photos without leaving the house make this an excellent deal for me.
