Restaurant.com $25 Gift Certificate for $2 through Halloween

by Tara Kuczykowski on October 28, 2008 · 24 comments

Do you want to take your whole family out to dinner for just $2? Then you need to get on over to Restaurant.com to cash in on this hot offer they have going on through Friday, October 31st.

Taking advantage of this offer is easy:

  • Add your gift certificates to your cart in increments of $25.
  • Enter the code TREATS at checkout.
  • Use the gift certificate code generated to select and print out gift certificates to the restaurants of your choice.

The only caveat I would mention is to make sure you look up what restaurants are participating in your area and check to see if they have any purchase requirements.  Some restaurants may require a minimum food purchase when using one of the GCs.

Thanks to Michael for passing on this deal!

Check Restaurant.com and make sure there are restaurants that you frequent that take the certificates. Also note that usually you have to have a minimum purchase of, say $50 to use a $25 certificate.

Not saying this isn't a great deal, just throwing it out there for general consumption.

I took advantage of a sale like this a few years ago - I still have $100 in unused certificates. The good news is that it looks like they're still active...

I just bought a $50 gift certificate for $4.00! It's a restaurant I haven't heard of, and it's for a minimum $100 purchase... but it was only $4.00! I have a large extended family that like to all get together for dinner at restaurants occasionally. We could easily spend $100. For half off, even mediocre food is worth it for a family get-together. It's not about the food, after all!

"Stocking Stuffers".

I made separate purchases to get 12 - $25 cards to give to friends and family this holiday season. $300 for $24.!? Who cares about the $35 minimum (in my case)? If you staid fast to that amount, that's still only $12 per meal for $47 worth.

It's the cost thought that counts!

Please be careful with this...restaurants.com is notorious for selling credit card info!

Katy, the gist of what I'm seeing is not that Restaurant.com is selling your credit card information but that they may offer you a cash back offer if you give them permission to share your information with a partner company. As long as you purchase only the gift certificates and don't sign up for any other offers without reading very carefully, your credit card information should be safe.

This is terrific, I just purchased ten certificates - we'll either use them for special occasions or pass them along to people.

Wow!

Confused as to why this 'deal' from October 2008 is still coming up on the website at this point? It's April 11, 2010. Does this mean it's still valid? If not, why does it still appear? Curious. It showed up below the Wendy's frosty 'deal'. Thank You

I have no idea why this one is up here, from 2008 - but we have a local restaurant that we use these certificates on, so I tried the code and it is invalid

Sorry, it was just a glitch from switching over to the new layout!
